I love Padua! One of the cities that fascinated me is Padua in Italy. The history is interesting. It was founded by the Veneti, recaptured by the Gauls and conquered by the Romans.Somehow it seems to me that Padua has been unfairly neglected.Known for the university, one of the oldest in Europe (from 1222).Pratto della Valle - a huge elliptical square, the largest in Italy and among the largest in Europe, with a handful of sculptures surrounding it, a fountain in the middle and green areas. It's divine, I'm happy that my eyes saw it.Be sure to see Café Pedrocchi, a cafe built in the neoclassical style with Egyptian influence, which was a favorite place of intellectuals, artists and writers, and was the main gathering place for patriots during the riots of 1848 against the Habsburg monarchy. The wounding of a university student in that cafe on February 8, 1848, led to the first uprisings that would later be part of the Italian Risorgimento.
