It's here. I smiled when I saw her washing a tin dish at the fountain, while I tightened the leash trying to calm the dog before the rush of pigeons. During that time, her dog stood quietly by and kept their bags. Some good people set up that tin pot for birds and animals from the park and tied it with a chain to a fountain, like tying a bike to a pole. I saw her in two other places. Around noon, she was selling a magazine about the homeless in front of the pharmacy. So for the first time I heard her voice, whole and gentle, she called me good day and thanked me for the money. In warm weather, her dog would lie at her feet. In strong winds and frost, she would make him a shelter from bags. In the afternoon she fed the pigeons, there, behind the fountain. The fountain was large, in the shape of a globe with a warning that the water was not drinkable. She fed those pigeons so devotedly, talked to them and made sure that everyone got a chance to have a bite, that from a distance it looked like oil on canvas. She has been gone for a long time and I miss her. #missingstory
