HUMAN STUPIDITY CANNOT BE EXPLAINED BETTER THAN THIS PICTURE.Elephants evolved because of poachers.Elephants have found the ideal way to defend themselves from poachers - by no longer growing their tusks.Experts have noted that as many as 32 percent of female elephants from Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique were born without tusks, which is far more than two to four percent of these mammals naturally born without tusks in the African wild.This figure makes sense, because thousands of elephants from Gorongosa were killed to finance the nation's long civil war, leaving only about 200 females, half of them without tusks. Now their female offspring is following this direction.Elephants use their tusks for a variety of things - from scraping the bark of trees in search of food and digging for minerals, to fighting males for females. However, even those without tusks survive, scraping the bark with their teeth or a trunk. Scientists are now investigating how these elephants adapt. Meanwhile, the poaching continues.
