Mathematical logic was originally considered as a hopelessly abstract theory, and as such - inapplicable in practice !? Numerous interesting studies have been done on the topic of human reasoning. For example, a group of educated respondents were given false data in order to come to certain conclusions. Respondents took the test, after which they were told that all the data were false. Respondents were then asked to do the test again and as many as 98% answered identically. Thus, the respondents completely ignored the fact that their first judgments were made on the basis of erroneous data! An excellent article about it was recently published in The New Yorker - two things are very important and very devastating: in the human population, only 6% of people are ready for logical thinking, while the rest think on a completely different basis. Namely, throughout history, it has been more important to think in a similar way as someone who is part of your social environment, than to think logically.
