MasterCard conducted an extensive survey that covered sixteen thousand people worldwide (they searched the Americas, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa and the Far East). They found out that as many as 40 percent of all respondents intend to use cryptocurrencies for some form of payment in the coming year.
67 percent of respondents of this age stated that they have more confidence in crypto than last year. 77 percent of them want to know more about this topic, and 75 percent said they would be happy to use, advocate and support cryptocurrencies if they understood all the details a little more. The pandemic is cited as the main motivator for switching from cash to contactless payments, so as many as 63 percent of respondents admitted that this year and last, for the first time in their lives, they tried new payment methods that they would not have used before. Let me remind you, in addition to cryptocurrencies, these methods also include biometric payments (as in China), contactless cards, and QR codes. It is also interesting that in addition to the countries of the first world, such as Canada, Australia and the United States, the survey also included Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria, Kenya, Peru, Chile and Colombia, among others.
