Today I am walking around Istanbul and I remember beautiful days.

Pierre Loti lookout

The name Pierre Loti, is a pseudonym used by the French writer and navigator Louis Marie Julien Viaud, who was madly in love with Istanbul.

He was amazed by the beautiful view from the place where he enjoyed his coffee every day. Here he wrote a part of his works inspired by his stay in Istanbul. Since that time, the hill as well as the coffee bears his name. As you ride the cable car the view of the Golden Horn Sleeve is so close and intimate that you simply have the feeling that you can anoint your hand with water.

And about the view from the lookout point, I will not add anything special, let the photos that I chose speak for themselves. At the top there is a restaurant where you can eat a traditional Turkish dish - gozleme - a thin dough stuffed with cheese, Trappist, potatoes and spinach and drink ultra-delicious lemonade, apple tea or coffee. The restaurant does not serve alcoholic beverages. and I am in love with Istanbul.

Ortakoy Mosque is the most beautiful decoration of the Besiktas region.

It was built in the middle of the 19th century on the shores of the Bosphorus, under the bridge that connects Europe and Asia by order of Sultan Abdul Medzid in a similar period as the Dolmabahçe Palace, under the same architects - father and son of Balayan Armenian origin. Sultan Abdul Madzid, in addition to being the ruler of the Ottoman Empire, was also a great calligrapher, painter and musician, so you can see some of his calligraphic works in this mosque.

And within Dolmabahce in the gallery part you can see his paintings and self-portrait. I dare say that he was extremely talented, certainly a better painter than a ruler. If we take into account that its lavish construction in Istanbul was causal - consequently emptied the state coffers and directly led to the fall of the Ottoman Empire. The colors that predominate in the interior of the mosque are very subtle, reduced and pastel beige, white, pink and gold, and low crystal chandeliers add elegance and grace. It is the most photographed mosque on the outside, but no less charming on the inside, on the contrary.
