Eminem: The Legend of Rap Eminem is without a doubt the best lyricist in the history of the rap game. Ever since I was a kid I loved his music and made me start appreciating the lyrics of his and other artists' songs. How he started Marshall Bruce Mathers III, AKA Slim Shady, AKA Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on October 17th, 1972. I don't think I should tell you how he grew up because he pretty much covered it on most of his songs. Top 10 Oasis Songs Oasis were one of the greatest and biggest band in the 90's that rocked the whole world. Their on/off-stage antics really made them get the attention of most people but they also managed to make some of the most amazing songs which I will share my favorite ones below. How They Started **Oasis** was formed in 1991 in Manchester, England by **Liam Gallagher**, **Paul Arthur**, **Paul McGuigan** and **Tony McCarroll**. Later, Liam Gallagher's older brother, **Noel Gallagher** joined the band. The guys' rolls was as follows: Liam Gallagher - Vocalist Noel Gallagher - Lead Guitarist Paul Arthur - Guitarist Paul McGuigan - Bass Guitarist Tony McCarrol - Drummer In 1993, The band was signed to a record label called Creation Records. Within a year the band released their first studio album that broke a lot of records and considered to be their greatest work. Throughout the years, Oasis band members changed with the exception of the Gallagher brothers. **Alan White** took over the drumming roll. **Gem Archer** and **Andy Bell** also assumed the roll of guitarist and bass guitarist respectively. Ed Sheeran's Top 10 Songs Currently, Ed Sheeran is one of the best singer/song-writer in the soft rock genre and his success shows it. I have been his fan for some time now and I can see he's evolving and improving his craft with every song he makes. Before I get into my selection of his top 10 songs, let me give you some info on him. How His Started **Edward Christopher Sheeran** was born in West Yorkshire, England in February, 1991. He then moved to Framlingham, England and started to work on his music writing passion at an early age. By 2011, he managed to release his first EP which helped him get signed by Asylum Records. In September of the same year, he release his first studio album '**+' '(Plus)'**. Albums Ed Sheeran made five great studio albums and I don't think he's stopping any time soon. In 2011, he released his first studio album called **'+' '(Plus)'**. Although it was his first album, it managed to do phenomenally great that it was responsible for catapulting his career. It contained great tracks like **'You Need Me, I Don't Need You'**, **'Lego House'** and **'A Team'**. In 2014, he made **'X' '(Multiply)'**. The album was number one on the Billboard charts and considered to be one of his greatest work. The songs **'Bloodstream**', **'Sing'** and **'Thinking Out Loud'** are few of the tracks that made the album great. His third album came in 2017 and it was called **'÷' '(Divide)'**. The album won a Grammy Award for best pop vocal album and did also well world wide. **'Shape of You**', **'Perfect'** and **'Happier'** are some of the great songs on the album. **'No.6 Collaborations Project'** is his fourth album and it was released in 2019. So I would like to share my picks of their top 10 songs but before that let me give you some info about the band. Brief History **Linkin Park** is an American band formed in 1996 by three high school students, **Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon** and **Brad Delson.** They later recruited **Chester Bennington** ***(R.I.P)***, **Joe Hahn** and **Dave "Phoenix" Farrell**. The band's first album was **"Hybrid Theory"** and it was so good, it was responsible for the bands success. It was released in 2000 and contained great songs like **"In The End"**, **"One Step Closer"** and **"Papercut"**. In 2003, they made **Meteora** which was another great hit. The tracks **"Numb"**, **"Faint"**, **"Breaking the Habit"** and **"Somewhere I Belong"** made the album a masterpiece. **"Minutes to Midnight"** was their third album that was released in 2007 and its world wide acceptance was beyond belief. Even if a person is no a fan of rock music, I bet they have hear the songs **'Paint it, Black'**, **'Gimme Shelter'** or **'Sympathy For The Devil'**. J. Cole, The Middle Child J. Cole is without a doubt one of the greatest rapper of our generation and I really enjoy his music. Cole was born in January 28, 1985 on a military base in Germany. His father, a military veteran abandoned him and his older brother Zach which forced his mother, Kay to move back to the United States and raise them in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Cole developed a huge interest in Basketball and Music from a young age and tried to pursue both. He performed well academically which helped him get a scholarship to St. John's University in New York. After finishing his Communication and Business courses, he went back to Fayetteville and worked part-time while working on his music. In 2007, his finally released his first mix-tape called **"The Come Up"**. It contained songs like **"Dollar and a Dream"**, **"Split You Up"**, **"School Daze"** and **"Lil' Ghetto N***a"** which were a great introduction to the music world. In 2009, he released his second mix-tape named **"The Warm Up".** This mix-tape was very successful as it contained songs like **"Lights Please"**, **"Grown Simba"**, **"Dead Presidents II"**, **"Last Call"** and **"Royal Flush"**. In 2010, he continued to release his third mix-tape, **"Friday Night Lights"**. This was another great mix-tape which helped him gain huge traction in his career. **"Enchanted",** **"Blow Up"**, **"See World"**, **"Higher"** and **"Best Friend"** are some of the best track on the mix-tape. The tracks **"Amari"**, **"The Climb Back"**, **"My Life"** and **"Pride is the Devil"** made the album fantastic. The Evolution of EDM & Festivals Electronic Dance Music, 'EDM' for short, managed to gain huge fan-base and became the source of great festivals/raves these days. It is one of my favorite music genres and I love playing it, specially when there are a lot of people around that just want to blow-off steam. DJs such as myself like this genre because the crowd really respond to it and it gives us the freedom to work with it without constraints. So the big question is how did this music genre evolve to its current state? A brief history It is believed that the history of EDM started 40 years ago but it didn't get discovered, instead it evolved by taking some parts of other genres like **Dub**, **Hip Hop** and **Disco** to have the unique sound it has today. It is hard to give EDM a simple definition, every musician or listener can give their own version of the definition and they are all right. I think EDM is like an abstract painting, and everyone can interpret it in their own way. For me, it's simple, EDM is any music that is electronically produced for the purposes of dancing or for activities that are enhanced with a sound track, like traveling or walking. EDM playlists you listen to have a way of reminding you that activity in a great way. It takes place in Boom, Belgium, every year but other countries like Brazil have adopted it. Lately the event has expanded from 2 days to 2 weeks which is amazing to experience. Taylor Swift Made History **Taylor Swift** made history by occupying all the top ten spots of the Billboard chart this week. She released her new album, **Midnights** on October 21 and her songs rocketed to the top of the Billboard list in no-time. The previous record was set by **Drake**. In September of 2021, Drake release an album called **Certified Lover Boy** and nine songs from the album where on the top ten Billboard list for a week. Taylor Swift also managed to tie with Barbra Streisand for having the most number one album on Billboard in the female category. Furthermore, Taylor broke the **Spotify** record of the most streams in a day from a single album. How it all started Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Pennsylvania, United States.
