How to be a successful leader Firstly let us look at some definitions of a leader by different people below; ◽A leader is someone who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way _John C. Maxwell. ◽A leader is a person who has a vision, a drive and a commitment channeled through requisite skills to make the vision a reality _Kolade Omotayo. ◽A leader with no followers is just taking a walk _John C. Maxwell. ◽A leader is someone who has a high level of interpersonal effectiveness which is the capability to influence others competently _Kolade Omotayo. Characteristics of great interpersonal effectiveness 1) Awareness - A state of consciousness. 2) Ability - To lead a function of influence. 3) Commitment - What keeps you going in the face of adversity and challenges. Commitment ignites action. Without it, people will not follow you.
