Moral Values of Bangladesh
Bangladesh is one of the developing countries of the world. The population of the country is about 160 million. It is one of the most densely populated areas the world. The huge population is a big problem for this country. There is no alternative to education for making this population into human resource. Now let us see what education is. For sustaining life man has to live by adjusting with the environment. In the way of life man has to face many new problems. The environment also changes with the passage of time and the development of civilization. As a result man has to face new environment and problems. For keeping pace with the changing diverse environments man has to acquire new knowledge, skill and behaviour. The art of acquiring this new knowledge, skill and behaviour is called education. The subject matter of education may some concepts, skilled have work or behaviour. Man has to learn from the birth till death. Man has to learn and know himself, his environment and the whole world. He has to learn for his own necessity. As there is no end to the necessity of man, there is no end to education. Man has to learn for the whole of his life. The learning period is from the cradle to the grave. Education is a sort of complex process. It is difficult to express education in a single statement. Different educationists and philosophers have defined education from different viewpoints. According to Begum Rokeya, "Education is to improve by practice the natural knowledge or power given to the human being by the Creator." English poet and philosopher John Milton has given a beautiful definition of education. He said, "Education is the harmonious development of body, mind and soul."
