Vicente Leyva
Kalentong or Vicente Leyva is from Mandaluyong. He was a common Filipino who sold milk that was part of the movement of Andres Bonifacio's dictators and fought against the Spanish conquerors. In a massacre in Bulacan, Leyva was seriously injured and was just crowned colonel. Although fleeing and not being captured by the Spaniards, Leyva died of a stab wound. Because of his heroism, General Emilio Aguinaldo raised Leyva's rank in general. Over time he was named after a street in Mandaluyong now known as Kalentong. The Three Heroes' Plaza is also erected in Mandaluyong where the statues of Andres Bonifacio, Leyva and Laureano Gonzales can be seen together.
