Social distancing is an absolute necessity and unfortunately children suffer the most in this separation, on the one hand they are trapped in homes and also do not know the reason

You may be concerned about the Coronavirus pandemic like most people and want to keep your family safe. Social distancing is an easy way to help limit the spread of the virus, but you may have a hard time understanding your children why they can't meet their friends and go out and take a walk as usual.
But do not worry! After reading this article, you will be able to help them understand why social distancing is important.

Discuss with your child what he knows about the virus

Ask your child what he knows about the Coronavirus Try to find out what your child understands about the virus and how he feels about it, write down any wrong information that needs to be corrected and whether or not your child seems afraid. This will enable you to guide the child and provide him with the correct information.

You can ask him: "What have you heard about the Coronavirus?"
Reassure them that you are doing everything to keep them safe, it is natural for your child to feel anxious about a pandemic. However, tell your children that you and the other adults in their lives are working hard to protect them from this virus. You can say:

"You don't need to worry because we are working to keep you safe, you are not in great danger, we just have to be more careful."

Explain to your child the importance of social distancing

Explain to him that people can spread the virus even before they become sick or show symptoms. This is why it is important to stay away from everyone, whether or not they develop symptoms.
Talk to your child about how the virus is spreading so that they understand why they cannot go out with their seemingly healthy friends. Tell your child that when a person is infected with the virus, it takes 2-14 days before symptoms appear. During this time, they may infect others, even though they appear healthy.

Tell your child that social distancing helps prevent the spread of the virus. Try to help him see social distancing as a proactive step for family members to take . The only way to avoid getting sick is by avoiding sick people, and how social distancing is an effective way to stop the spread of germs.

Explain to them the reasons for the changes they notice in their lives

Discuss the changes they may notice in your community. Your children have likely already noticed major changes in their daily life, which can be frightening. Ask them about the differences they noticed, and then explain what might happen as well. Reassure them that these changes are positive because they protect everyone's health. Your baby will notice changes that are:

  • Close schools, restaurants, stores, play areas, cinemas, and other public places.

  • The stores are not crowded.

  • Parents and guardians work from home.

  • Their friends no longer visit them.

  • They no longer play outside or take public transportation.

Empathize with your child

Empathize with your children if they are upset. Your child may express sadness, frustration or anger because of the new rules that they have to follow. This can be difficult to deal with, especially since you are probably already dealing with a lot. Try to see things from their perspective. Plus, let them know that you are also upset about not seeing your friends. You can set up a video call so that your child can communicate with his missing friends and relatives.

Explain to your child the importance of staying home as much as possible. Your kids definitely don't want to spend all of their time at home, so they may wonder why they can't play with friends or go to the movies. Tell them that spending time with others and going to public places increases their risk of getting sick or spreading illness, then reassure them that things will eventually return to normal.

Explain to them the importance of doing their homework from home

Discuss why they are doing their schoolwork at home. The transition from school to homeschooling can be overwhelming for your children. They may not understand why they have to stay home, especially if no one in their school gets sick. Explain that the school administration tries to keep all children and staff safe by keeping them at home. In addition, reassure your child that the work he does at home will help him succeed and finish his class and reassure him that his teacher will continue to evaluate his duties, so you do not need to worry about ending the school year.

our kids will likely miss their friends a lot, especially if they are so used to seeing them every day at school. It can be difficult for your children why you forbid them to play with them and ban parties to keep them safe. Help your child understand that being around others increases his risk of contracting germs, but remind him that this is only temporary.

Explain to your child to stay at least a meter away when going outside

Tell them to keep at least 6 feet (1.8 m) away from others while out. There will likely be times when your kids are out in public, such as while walking outdoors or maybe at the grocery store.

Encourage your children to communicate with friends via video chat. Social distancing doesn't mean you have to isolate yourself from your friends. Talk to your children about the ways in which they can communicate with their friends using their phone, tablet and computer. Let your kids use their devices to text, chat, or call their friends

Do recreational activities with your child

Do hands-on educational activities to entertain your children. It's easy to get bored if you spend all of your time indoors. Fortunately, you can help your children have fun while expanding their minds. Try different educational activities with your children. Here are some ideas:

  • You can try growing some potted plants with your child.

  • Trying to prepare some foods or desserts together in the kitchen.
