The photo was taken at Villa Poggio Reale in Rufina, the production area of the Chianti RUFINA DOCG wine. Since 1400 the typical container for wine was the flask, represented in the photo, a glass container in the shape of a pear. From Rufina about 2000 full flasks, they left for Florence skilfully loaded in a pyramid on long horse-drawn carriages. During the Florentine republic, on September 29 of each year the barrocci arrive in the city, they received the blessing and taken to the old palace, where the gonfalonier and the prior toasted to the health of the people
