True Beauty - K-Drama For Feeling Teenager Like Me

After "Backstreet Rookie", I started watching another Korean drama. At first, I did not enjoy it. When I watched its first episode, I thought that I would not enjoy watching it. But when I was in Episode 3, the excitement and thrilled began.

This is the story of a teenager who was born "not so pretty". Her name is Joo-kyung. She has an elder sister and younger brother who were beautiful and handsome.

Even before she was a child, her friends and relatives noticed the difference between the 3 of them. Until she grew up as a kid, she was always teases by other kids with her looks. They don't play with them so she just played alone.

The First Meeting With The Guy

Until she became a teenager. She studied in a school where she was bullied everyday by her classmates because she was ugly. Once her classmates shouted at her, she will run fast to buy dumplings for them at the canteen. They always make fun of her and even her closest friend at the room betrayed her so that she will not be bullied too by those bullied people.

One day, her classmates made fun of her by taking a video of her while she was about to confess her love to her crush at school. She thought his crush likes her too. But the guy did not appear on their meeting place but rather, those who bullied her showed up instead of his crush. She was embarassed by what they did to her.

She went on the top of a building and crying because of what happened. She looked like she was about to jump.

Whike she was standing in the edge of the building, a guy suddenly grabbed her knowing she was about to commit suicide and jump. They both fell on the ground and the girl lost her eyeglasses so he cannot see the guy who pulled him.

They went down the building while the girl was following her because of her poor vision. She was holding onto the rails of the stairs because she cannot see anything. She fell down on the floor but the guy was walking fast. When she noticed that the girl fell on the ground, he carried the girl while going down because they thought that the elevator was not working. When they were at the ground floor, they found out that it was already working and there was just a maintenance during the time they saw it closed.

She rode the taxi going home and thank the guy even though she did not saw the guys face. The guy left too.

When the girl went home, she saw her mother crying. She found out that his father was scammed and they need to sell their house for their money and go back to their old house.

Being embarassed of what she suffered from their school, she watched videos from the internet on how to apply make up to cover her skins imperfections. She bought make up from her savings and practice what she learned from the internet.

Going Back To Their Old House

They sold their house and went back to their old house. Because of that, the girl and his brother transferred school.

It was early morning and her family were having breakfast. She applied make-up in her room and dressed for school. When she went down, her family were surprised with her new look and went to school without eating.

When she entered her new school, everyone was looking at her. They were all amazed by her beauty while she was walking inside. She was also surprised with the reaction from the people around her. They all found her pretty.

Then she was introduced to the class.

There she saw a handsome guy which turned out to be her classmate. But that guy was a quiet man. He was Su-ho. Many girls have crush on her but he did not care. He was a smart and rich guy. His father was a CEO in a big company. But he was not close to his father.

When she heard the voice of Su-ho. It was familiar to her but she cannot remember that it was the guy who saved her in the building.

She met many friends including 2 girls who easily became close to her. She was also added to a group chat which never happened to her before in her previous school. She was very welcome and happy with her new school.

But when she reached their house, she removed her make up and get back to her old look. Then she visited the shop where she used to visit before when she was a kid. The shop were renting comic books and she loved reading about horror. When she was looking for the certain book, there was also a guy looking for that same book. It was the handsome guy in her class. They became close as time goes by. The girl did not know if the guy knew that she and the beautiful girl in school were just the same.

The Other Handsome Guy in School

An old stufent came back in the class. He was on a vacation because he took care of her sick mother. Joo-kyung met him also in many instances outside the school.

That guy was also handsome and he was before close to Soo-ho. He is Seo-jun. They used to be 3 bestfriends but the other one committed suicide because of false rumours that were issued to him. He was also bullied.

Soo-ho thought that he killed their bestfriend because he was not able to answer the call when their bestfriend was calling him for help.

They thought that it was Soo-ho's father who made the issue about their bestfriend and why it died.

Seo-jun and Soo-ho had a secret crush on her. But everyone in the class did not know her real face aside from Soo-ho.

The School Trip

During the school trip, everyone enjoyed their school activities. Soo-ho expressed his love for Ju-kyung. but his rival was also there showing his affection, too.

This was also where one of his girl friends saw her bare face accidentally. She told the truth to her friend and she was accepted for that. This is where they became closer.

Soo -ho and Ju-kyung started dating secretly. They met at the comic shop because they enjoy reading horror books..

Until they became a couple but it was only the two of them who knew their relationship. But Ju-kyungs friend told her feelings to Soo-ho.

Seo-ju also has deeper feelings to Ju-kyung. He wanted to confess his love to Ju-kyung because he cannot hide his feelings for the girl anymore bit he knew who the girl loves.

The company where Soo-ho's dad was the CEO released a song that was written by Soo-ho's bestfriend who committed suicide. It was not released but they plagiarized it. When it was aired in the radio, Soo-hi and Seo-jun heard. They were both angry and Soo-ho went to his dad's company and heard what bappened. He ran away and Seo-jun saw him crossing and followed him which made them into accident.

They were both sent to hospital in one room but Seo-jun has minor wounds only. It was Soo-ho who became fatal. They became close again like brothers when they were together. Ju-kyoung visited them.

The Secret Revealed

One morning, when Ju-kyung went happily to school, she was seeing people looking at her and staring as if she has done something bad.

Until she reached the classroom and one of his friends confronted her and ran away. It was about her old videos where her old classmates bullied her and showing her real face. The face with pimples and no make up. It was seen by many students. She was emabarassed.

She ran away and her boyfriend saw her but she ignores him. She went to a place where no one will saw her. Her boyfriend was looking for him but she was nowhere to be found.

The video was uploaded by her bestfriend who has a strong affection for Soo-ho.

Ju-kyumg was absent for few days because of what happened but because of the family's support and his boyfriend, she went to school one morning with no make up. She was brave enougj to face her classmates. Her boyfriend was proud of her. Soo-ho also admitted his relationship with Ju-kyung. Her classmates accepted her and it became normal again. Ju-kyung also talked to one of her bestfriends who got mad at her. They reunited too.

Her friend who uploaded the video dropped out from school.

After the issue, Ju-kyung and Soo-ho became sweeter since their relationship is no longer a secret.

One day, they planned to go on a date. They went to stroll in the sea. But Soo-ho's father had a heart attack and his secretary tried calling him but both of their cellphones were out of charge.

Seo-jun went to their date and personally told him what happened. They leave and Soo-ho went to the airport to go to the United States and took charge of his father in the hospital. He bid goodbye to his girlfriend for the meantime and promised to come back.

When he was about to come back, his father got illed again. He went into operation which made Soo Won stayed. Ju -kyung waited at the airport and thinking Soo-ho will come. She called Soo-ho and found out what happened.

Soo-ho was not sure when to come back. So he decided to broke up with Ju-kyung but she did not acceptes it. She said that she will wait.

Ju-kyung hanged out with friends to forgot her past. She enrolled to make-up school to make herself busy. She decided not to call Soo-ho again.

She still go to the comic shop and reminisce their moments together. She noticed what Soo-ho had written in the wall. To wait for him in the first snow in a certain place.

One night, the snow appeared. It was the first snow and she remembered what Soo-ho wrote. She went to the place where he mentioned but Soo-ho did not appeared. Ju-kyung went down and leave but she forgot her ticket so she went back and he noticed a man wearing long jacket staring outside the building. It was Soo-ho and when he saw her, he hugged Ju-kyung but the girl stopped it. She was still mad with the guy for breaking up with her. The boy told the whole truth. But the girl left.

Seo-jun who had a crush on Ju-kyung tried courting her since he had broken up with Soo-ho. He admitted his feelings to her which he has been keeping for how many years. He said that he wanted to moved on and admitted his feelings because he that Ju-kyung only loved one person.

When he found out that Soo-ho came back, he told Ju-kyung that Soo-ho will come back to the United States. So the girl went hurriedly to Soo-ho to stop him and tell her how much he love Soo-ho.

But when she got there, Soo-ho was not actually leaving. It was just Seo-jun's way of telling Ju-kyung to get back with Soo-ho. He was hurt but he keeped moving. He joined a boy band since he was good in singing and got busy with it.

Ju-kyung and Soo-ho reunited and lived happily. She also reunited with her old friends at school.

All of us had imperfections. True beauty is our attitude. It is what people will admire us for in the end. It depends on the people who will accept and love us for our physical looks. We just need to be honest with the people around us.
