Yesterday was the last day of Navratri. And yesterday was Dashmi so we enjoy the day by burning the statue of Ravana. I was very busy so I did not post anything soo sorry for this my friends. How are you all? Majja ma??

I'm curious to know about the burning of Ravana. My late husband was from The Bahamas. They had a holiday where they celebrated by burning an effigy of a man named Guy Fawkes. Evidently he was a traitor. I am from USA and I remember when my husband first told me about the tradition, I thought: "WOW! They really do not like this guy!"

  I'm sorry about your husband. In our Indian culture, we celebrate Ravana Dahan before the Dewali festival. Ravana was a very bad man, he was evil. And he kidnapped Goddess Sita that's why Ram who was Sita's husband Killed Ravana. The ambition of Ram's birth was especially to kill Ravana.
