It's two years past since we had a short trip or a day for ourselves. During the pandemic period we never moved out of our home. As most of the time our area was a containment zone. Except for any kind of emergencies or for our daily necessities, we just stayed in to keep ourselves safe. Now the government here has decided to open up everything gradually. So, finally we decided for a short trip, which is just 3 hours away fron my home town in Kerala, India. Actually kerala is called as God's own country. This is due to the beautiful greenery around the state.
The place where I visited recently with family is called Mango Meadows which is in the state called Kottayam. Its an Agricultural theme park. A very serene scenic place away from city. More than 4500 species of plants are found which includes even medicinal plants. For the sake of visitors they sell organic vegetables and fruits, that are grown there, at a very reasonable price. It is just three years since it started but was closed down with in few months due to raise in covid period. So now once again it started functioning a month ago. That's when we decided to make a short visit there.
There are so many activities to keep us busy. Boating which includes pedal boat and row boat, cycling, archery, pottery making and parks for the little ones to play. To top it all the lanes in the theme park are set in a way where we can walk and cycle leisurely.
There was another wonder that striked me. It was a sculpture of a hand holding most of the waste trees. The tour guide who was with us told us that it symbolizes that even all the waste trees are safe in the hand of their Director, who is the one behind the creation of Mango Meadows.
The vegetable farm. We just got a pic of pumpkin. The farm was not in progress for the past one year due to lack of staff in the pandemic time. Now it started to function again in the past few weeks.
Finally our way back home we just halted in a restaurant and had an Arabic snack called falafel which is made of chickpeas and coated with sesame seeds.
Once in a while away from the busy schedule to a secluded place along with family will make a drastic change. Hope you agree with me.
