Glimpse of my Daydream

You know what? I have a dream. Some people want a simple life. Living in a hut, no work, just planting veggies in the backyard, surrounded by a garden of flowers, running in the yard with their families or maybe a dog. Well, that's one of the dreams I daydream about every night before I go to sleep. But I want a hybrid life—one that blends living in the city and on a farm. Maybe some of you are wondering why anyone would want to live in the city. There’s traffic, overcrowded places, high living costs, noise, pollution—all kinds of chaos. But honestly, no matter how many bad things people say about it, the city has always brought me comfort during my lowest days. It might sound strange, but the noise, the constant hum of life, it makes me feel safe. It reminds me I’m not alone. And those city lights? They feel like home. I often catch myself daydreaming, what if one day someone left me $36 million? What would I even do with it? First things first, I’d probably head straight to the bank. I’d find an account manager to help me out, because let’s be real, $36 million is no joke. I’d open an account and deposit the money. Then, I’d pay off all my debts—house loans, credit cards, everything. After that, I’d get full insurance coverage for my family, paid in full, no worries. I’d buy a one-bedroom condo unit. I picture it as a warm, welcoming space with lots of glass windows that let in plenty of natural light during the day, and a cozy mix of warm lighting at night. When you walk in, the kitchen would be on the right side, with a low table in front of it—something like a kitchen island that also works as a dining table. On the left, there’s a clean, relaxing bathroom with a subtle, soothing fragrance. It has enough space for all my skincare essentials, along with a large mirror—something like a vanity mirror with built-in lights. Of course, there’s a comfortable toilet seat with a bidet. The shower area is separated by a non-staining glass partition, and it comes with two water flow options: one that mimics gentle rain and another for a quicker shower. I’d also want a water heater for those cold days. Let’s go back to the kitchen. I’d grab a glass of water from a big fridge, then walk straight ahead into a cozy living room. There’s a comfortable couch facing the TV, and right behind the couch is a table where I can paint. Next to it, there’s a shelf with a few of my favorite books, and besides that, a piano keyboard for when I feel like playing. There’s also a sliding door that leads out to the balcony. I’d place a couple of inclined chairs and a small coffee table out there, so I can sit and watch the city lights and all the movement below. It’s the perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee and take it all in. Now, let’s go back inside and take a look at my room, softly lit with dim lighting. It’s right next to the bathroom. Just beside the door is my study area, or maybe a writing or craft corner with a cozy swivel chair. There’s a warm study light, my laptop, monitor, printer, and a few other gadgets. I’ll have pens, highlighters, and plenty of stationery. Ugh, I love that part. Walk a little further in and you’ll see a huge bed—big enough to fit three people. Covered in lots of pillows and a thick comforter. I’m planning for the room to be cold, thanks to the air conditioner, just like in the living room. I might also install a ceiling fan for those times when the AC is off. Honestly, I’ll probably need it to help me get up early, because waking up in a cold, comfy room is the hardest thing ever.
