Another Guy with a Plane: This Time, He Stays on the Floor (3)

Hi NAVI-gator, We had been talking for two weeks, and it was really nice. Every conversation felt easy and genuine, something I always looked forward to. Then October 31 came, and you just went completely silent. Not a single message the whole day. I get it, it was a holiday and a long weekend, but maybe a little heads-up would’ve been nice, right? Then the next day you suddenly came back, sent one message, and disappeared again. It almost felt like you came back from being a ghost just to remind me you still exist. I thought it was just because of the holidays. I understand, like I always do, because it’s clear to me that I don’t have the right to demand your time. We’re just talking, getting to know each other, so I can’t. But at least out of courtesy, couldn’t you have done that? You could have just told me straight that you’re busy and can’t talk, or that you’re not ready for the kind of setup we have, so we might as well stop. That way, everything would be clear, and I wouldn’t have to expect anything from you—not like now, messaging me one moment and ghosting me the next. Maybe they’re right, most men are dumb. You think everything is fine unless I suddenly get angry and point out your mistakes, which you guys don’t like either because I might come across as nagging. Where on earth do I fit in? Uggghhh! You're frustrating me. In fairness, when we’re talking, you keep the conversation going. There’s never any dead air, but you haven’t really asked anything about me. It feels like you only ask questions when I ask you first. Now I’m wondering, are you actually interested in me, or do you just want someone to talk to? Or maybe you’re just a bad texter. I’m confused. Yesterday, I waited the whole day for your messages, but you didn’t send any. I went to our site and came back, but still nothing. I even tried messaging you about business, but there was no response. So, I stopped messaging. There’s no point, I guess. And today, past 8 a.m., you sent a message: *“Sorry, I forgot my phone, and I just got it now.”* I didn’t reply. Then you messaged again, *“Good morning.”* I’m not that busy, but I didn’t want to reply. I’m irritated with you. You messaged again past 11 a.m., *“Did you have your lunch?”* Again, I didn’t reply. Then you messaged, *“Seems like you’re busy today.”* No! I’m not busy. I’m just kinda mad at you. I received an email from your company following up about your collection, and you were looped in. I clicked ‘Reply to All’ and sent my response within five minutes. An hour later, I admit, I called you. I can't mirror what you're doing to me. “Hello?” you said on the other end. “Hello,” I answered. “How are you?” you asked. “I’m okay, but I’m a bit busy. I just saw you had six messages, so I thought it was urgent,” I said. “Oh, I just saw the email. Our collection department just sent a message, and you replied right away, but you didn’t answer my messages.” I could feel you were pouting in your voice. “Oh, I’m sorry. Actually, I’ve been busy since yesterday. I didn’t get the chance to open my Viber, so I didn’t know if you were messaging me or what,” I said. “I didn’t message you yesterday because I forgot my phone. I only have the company phone with me, and I can’t message you there,” you said. Ugh. I don’t know if you’re just giving excuses, but I still hate you. Hahaha. “Haha, it’s okay,” I just said. “I thought you were sulking because I wasn’t messaging you,” you said. “N—actually, yes, I’m sulking, really,” I answered, in a sarcastic tone. “Haha, this person needs a coffee date. Uhh, I don’t have my car to go there, and I have site visits this week. I’ll let you know if I’m in your area. Let’s date.” I could feel the heat in my ears. I’m blushing. I asked you if you had your lunch, and you said you were about to and asked me back. I told you I had to go back to work since I have a lot of things to do. You said, “Okay, laters,” and I dropped the call. Your voice was sweet this time, unlike the last time we talked. Honestly, I’m an impatient person and that’s why I get frustrated every time you keep me hanging. I could easily ghost you if I wanted to because you’re starting to irritate me, but I’m giving you a chance to prove that someone like me deserves to be pursued too, that someone like me can be liked even if I didn’t make the first move. Your name didn’t match you though. Navi-gator? But I’m lost. I don’t know where I stand. You’re supposed to guide the ship safely through the storm, but somehow, you’re the one creating it. I don’t know where this is going. I don’t know if I’m just hurting myself by talking to you. I don’t know if this will lead to something, or if this is what they call a *slow burn*. I don’t know, but we’ll never know unless we try. So, I’ll try to be more patient, even if you annoy me a lot. Yearning, Severina
