Still Refreshing My DMs, Waiting for That ‘Hi’

Sometimes I get frustrated about people belonging to different religions. Some are Catholics, Born-Again Christians, Muslims, INCs, Baptists, Hindus, Buddhists, and so on. You know why? Because in my religion, we are not allowed to marry someone from a different faith. Some of the guys I’ve dated tend to back off once they find out the consequences of being with me, because I might eventually ask them to convert to my religion. Well, that’s only half true. At the moment, I’m not really thinking about marriage. I just want to be with someone, like a companion. Someone who’s there when things feel sad and lonely, someone who supports you and roots for you. Someone who makes you feel kilig, someone you can talk to, someone who makes life more interesting. To be honest, it's really hard to find someone to date. First of all, I'm a girl. A lady with a *Maria Clara* perspective. I don’t make the first move. I just sit and wait for someone to come along and court me, that type. Second, it’s difficult to find someone who shares the same faith as I do. Because I know that even if I dated a thousand guys, if their faith is different from mine, there will always be conflicts that could lead to a breakup. Maybe that is the reason why God didn't allow me to meet that *stranger flying the plane*, because it’s not right for us to be together. Even if I really wanted to meet him and get to know him, I can't make the first move. That feels inappropriate. But to be honest with you, I'm still waiting for him to drop a little 'hi' in my *DMs*. Even if it's just as a friend, a new one with a little tension. Hihi. Oh my god, I'm so *hoe-y* at this point, ugh. So going back, as I was saying, I’m really frustrated about people belonging to different religions. If everyone had the same faith, maybe I’d already be a happy wife, with a loving husband and kids. Maybe I wouldn't feel so alone at this point in my life. Maybe a courageous man would come and take care of me like a baby. I’m really tired of being the man in the relationship. I want to be babied. You know what, lately I realized that I actually have a standard when it comes to men. If you ask me what kind of guy I want, I could definitely list it all for you. ***Caution: High Standards Ahead*** Physically, I want a man with neat hair, like a Korean-style two-block haircut. I’m really particular when it comes to hair. Next, of course, is hygiene. I want someone who takes a bath twice a day. Someone I can cuddle with comfortably. A clean guy with an addictive scent, not a strong and overpowering smell, but something light and relaxing. I hope he's snobbishly cute and taller than me. I prefer a fit type of guy, not a gym freak or a protein shake gulper, and not the big guy type either. I hope he's just semi-conscious about what he eats, like someone who is health conscious. I don't want someone who's already sick and keeps doing things that make it worse, then ends up blaming me. I don't want to feel responsible for someone making their illness worse. I hope the guy for me has a provider mindset. Someone who wants to take care of me in every way possible, so I can fully rely on him. I want to be able to lean on him when everything feels tough, because I'm really tired of being strong all the time. I want to put my brain on a shelf and just let it stay there for a while, knowing someone else is already handling everything. I hope he's emotionally intelligent. He knows when I need a hug, when something’s bothering me. He doesn’t fire back at me when I’m upset or feeling weak. He never raises his voice or hurts me, even when I’m being mean. He doesn’t let me cry alone, and he doesn’t sleep peacefully knowing that I’m heartbroken. I don't want another manchild in my life, and definitely not someone who is possessively jealous. Ugh, I hope I’m eligible for this kind of man. I think I deserve it, even just a bit. I want to fix my ruined life. I don’t want to live like this, full of shadows and dark clouds. I want a peaceful periwinkle blue life, with ponies, unicorns, and glitters. Can I have it, please?
