Am I Already Into You?

Okay, I admit it—I have a crush on someone who’s probably oblivious to my existence. We’re in the same church choir, but we barely talk unless it’s about choir duties. Eye contact? Forget it. He’s either glued to his phone or staring at the floor while walking. So, there goes my chance to flash my sweetest smile. I’ve known him since... well, sometime before the pandemic turned the world upside down. We met in the choir, of course. Back then, I had a boyfriend, so I just admired him from afar—cute guy with a voice that could make angels jealous. He’s the go-to duet guy for church weddings and every big event. Basically, he’s the choir’s leading man, and I was just a background singer that admires him. Then the pandemic hit, and while most people went home, I stayed stuck in the city, thinking it’d only last a week or two (classic mistake). My days were spent reading books, watching movies, and scrolling Facebook. That’s when he’d pop up on my feed, posting song covers that showed off his amazing voice. Of course, I’d leave the occasional comment, but he barely noticed—just me, fangirling in the void. And just when things started to get back to normal and the cases were going down, sadly, he didn’t. I eventually forgot about him. But then, months later, I was sitting in the choir loft during a worship service and spotted him in one of the pews, just among the congregation. It somehow made my heart a little lighter. A few months after that, he transferred to our locale and joined the choir. He was introduced to the members like any other transferee, and I just sat there, smiling quietly to myself. Now that I’m single, I’m free to have a crush again. I saw his IG in suggestions, so I followed him. Expected him to just accept it, but nope—he followed me back. Tried not to get delulu too soon, so I convinced myself he’s just being polite, especially since some of our choirmates are in his following too. Then I checked out his profile and, seriously, wow. I’m a fan of aesthetic shots, and his feed is all that—but in dark mode. Now I declare, he’s officially my happy crush. He’s one of the organists in our locale, so he sometimes directs us to our seats during worship. I always thought he was bad at remembering names, just like me—but then he called me by name to move seats. AhhhHHHHhh!! That totally made me flutter. When Miniso did a collab with Harry Potter, I, of course, had to go to the nearest mall and rummage through the HP stuff like any other fan. After posting on IG, one of my friends messaged me asking, 'Are you with **my crush's name**?' I replied, 'No, how I wish!' Turns out, she saw my post right after seeing his, where he’d also gone to Miniso for Harry Potter. Sadly, I didn’t spot him there. I checked the likes on my IG post and saw his name there. OMG. He liked my Harry Potter post! I almost died. That’s when it hit me—we have so much in common: Harry Potter, musicals, Disney, and of course, coffee. I don’t know… if he’d give me a chance to get to know him better, maybe there’s even more we’d share. IF!—I hope. Alright, I made my move. Just a little flirting, you know? I started liking his posts and stories on IG. He often posts notes on there, so one day, I decided to reply to every single one like I was the person he was talking to. I’m not sure if he actually noticed, but it sure seemed like he did. After I replied to all his notes on IG, he quickly deleted them. Ouch, that stung. I’m so confused right now. Is he interested in me? Even just a tiny bit? He watches every single one of my IG stories, but am I even attractive? I really don’t know. The thing is, I keep seeing him hanging out with another guy, and I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I *really* hope he’s not gay. I mean, I want a lover, not a sister! Huhu. It’s like I’m trying to read between the lines of a book that keeps changing genres. Hey, E! I hope you notice me before I turn into a full-on stalker.
