Are you trying to mess with my head again?

So, it’s a busy Monday, and my phone rings. I didn’t pick up because I *thought* it was the Pag-IBIG Fund, lol. I even checked my Viber first to make sure I hadn’t had any previous chats with this number. Nothing. So, I texted saying I was in a meeting, asking who it was. The reply? 'Nagbago ka po ng Cp, Ms. ***? Haha.' I played it cool with a 'Yes po. Hehe.' Then, a minute later, my Viber rings, and guess who it is. *That* person. The one who broke my heart and disappeared without a word. Plot twist, right? I honestly have no idea how long I just stared at my phone ringing before finally picking up with, 'Hello, who's this?', you know, acting like my Viber account didn’t recognize his number. He starts laughing and calls me 'so formal.' I hit him back with the driest response possible, because, seriously, how is he back from the dead after ghosting me and leaving me hanging over and over again? But I answered because let’s be real, I’m curious why he’s calling. After everything I’ve said on X (Twitter) about him, I figured he’d probably forgotten I even exist. But of course, he knows exactly who all those rants were about. Though now I’m even more confused if he’s already read them or not. And just like that, the Sahara Desert conversation begins. I'm throwing some serious attitude his way over the phone. He casually mentions that our colleague is on her last day and heading to the agency's office. I’m a bit shocked, but still, I'm wondering why he's calling about her and why, *why* he didn’t just pass the phone to her. Nope, instead, he keeps chatting with me, even though my responses are drier than the desert itself. He keeps the convo going, asking about my life and everything. It lasted a solid 15 minutes, and I thought, 'Okay, that's it.' But nope, he calls me again after lunch like we hadn’t just had a one-way phone marathon. So, the conversation drags on for 15 minutes, AGAIN. Out of nowhere, he says I should help him get out of his job and help him look for another company because the pay where he’s at is terrible. I hit him back with, 'You know what, you’re the problem. You don’t want to leave your city, honestly.' I didn’t really care if it stung—it was a half-joking, half-true remark. But, surprise, he wasn’t offended. He just took it as sarcasm and kept going on about how I have a *full-on attitude*. The chat finally ended when his mom called. Classic. I thought that was the end of it. I’m seriously proud of myself—I didn’t overshare, just kept it dry. Someone get me a medal, sis! But nope, 10 minutes later, he calls again! This time, I didn’t pick up right away like I did before. And guess what? We ended up talking nonsense for nearly an hour. How is that even possible? And here comes the ‘pasaring’ conversation. I say, ‘Gaganyan ganyan ka, may kasalanan ka pa sa akin,’ and he hits me with, ‘Magpakita ka kasi. Naka-rhinoplasty ka na ba?’ and just bursts out laughing. Naturally, I’m riding on his jokes because, well, that's what I'm *good* at—and apparently, that’s what he likes about me. He opens his camera, and I see him. He looks happy, I can tell by his eyes, and that smile he always gives me. I’ll admit, my icy heart melted a bit, but hey, I still *hate* him. But did I turn on my camera? Nope. Hello? I'm not exactly in my best form today. I’m buried in a mountain of papers, and also, he would definitely tease me about my ‘fat face.’ So, I made a mistake in my paper and said, ‘Hala, wala na kong pambura ng mga pagkakamali,’ referring to a correction tape, by the way. Just to be clear, it’s not a *pasaring*, okay? But of course, he hits me with, ‘Pagkakamali ba talaga yun para sayo?’ Now, I’m not assuming, but I’m pretty sure he’s talking about what happened between us in the past. I answered with full conviction, ‘Oo!’. He had to ask again, ‘Pagkakamali talaga yun?’ And just like that, I switched it up to ‘Depende.’ Classic me, always playing the middle ground, even back then. Then I remembered—I once wrote about regretting that I met him, and guess what? He brought it up, just like that cabinet I mentioned in my X (Twitter) post. So, you're still stalking me, huh? The phone call ended because, well, he had things to do, and so did I, but at least with a proper goodbye. After that? I was completely thrown off. It felt like the world just hit pause, and I was back at square one. Why did he come back? Why does he keep bringing up the past like it’s some running joke? He broke me all over again. I blocked him on my TG account a while ago, thinking that would do the trick. But nope, he found his way to my phone number and Viber, calling me *countless* times, even though I wasn’t answering. I don’t want to sound delusional, but... is he really doing all this for no reason? I guess I’m going to go jogging with my friend to release all these feelings. I know it’s tough, but I’m sticking to this nonchalant, Sahara Desert attitude. I don’t want to look like some easy girl in front of him, especially since he’s got a girlfriend! I’m not about to be anyone’s mistress. I’m just... frustrated. And, fine, I miss his voice calling me every lunch break and during OT hours. There, I said it. But I'm not stupid.
