My TME practical 2: Welding
**Welding**
Welding is the process of joining two pieces of metal together by means of electrical, spot, gas etc. with materials gold electrode.
An electrode is a welding material that consists of a standard wire gauge coated with flux used to join two materials together.
**Safety precautions**
Correct an appropriate workshop overall must be worn.
Safety boots must be worn at all time.
Switch off all equipments before changing of parts.
No equipment should be left unattended to.
Work smart and with 100% concentration.
**Tools and their application**
Set of spanner: used for loosening and tightening of bolts and nuts.
Hammer: used to remove welding slag from a weld and welding splatter from alongside welding.
Electrode holder: the electrode holder connects to the welding cable and conducts the welding current to the electrode, the insulated handle is used to guide the electrode over welding joints and feed the electrode into the weld puddle as it is consumed.
Try square: used to measure the accurate dimension of a workpiece.
Measuring tape: used to measure the accuracy dimension of a workpiece.
Bench vice: is a mechanical apparatus used to secure an object that is being worked on.
Hack saw: used for cutting metals.
Shear cutter: used for cutting sheet metals and cutting through a maximum deck thickness of 3 mm.
Welding generator: a machine used to generate heat through electrode by regulating (stepping up and stepping down voltage). It has a life terminal and Earth terminal.
Angle grinder: it is machine that has a circular disc attached to it's shaft which rotates at high speed soldiers 2500 RPM the speed varies with the machine and the power supplied to it.
**Types of welding**
Metal or steel gas welding: is the process of using it generated from burning a fuel gas to join metals together.
Water Welding: is the process of welding at elevated pressure mainly underwater.
Arc welding: is the welding process that is used to join metal to metal by using electricity to create enough heat to melt metal and the melted metals when cooled result in a binding of metals.
Spot welding: is a type of electric resistance welding used to weld various sheet metal products through a process in which contacting metal surface points are joined by the obtained from the resistors of electric current.
**Types of electrodes**
Mild steel electrode: used for welding of mild steel, galvanised and some low alloy steels.
Cast electrode: electrode having a pure nickel coil wire designed for the welding of cast irons with fire heat.
Aluminum electrode: designed for welding all weldable grade of aluminium with excellent colour match.
Stainless electrode: used for welding of 17/8/3 augtens stainless steels and cladded steels.
**Sizes of electrodes**.
The welding workshop was really fun to be and I want you all to learn.
Read, enjoy and learn 🤗❤️
My TME Practical 1: forging
**FORGING OF A SCREWDRIVER**
What is forging?
This is the aspect of engineering concerned with the shaping of metal squeeze or impact pressure to design the shape.
Materials: Anvil, tongs, sledge hammer, chisel, Double callipers, guages, files, hacksaw, bench vice.
**Hand forging**
This is the shaping of metal by plastic deformation under impact pressure carried out by hand tools.
**Equipment and tools used**
The Anvil: blacksmith anvil is a heavy block of steel on which metal is forged. It weighs from 80 to 300 kg, usually 150kg.
Hearth furnace: they are used for heating metal mount for hand forging. the most widely used is the open hearth furnace consisting of the hearth head and chimmey.
Hacksaw with blade: this is used for cutting off the metal part.
Guages: are used for checking the thickness of bars and light forging.
Sledgehammer: they are used for striking metal work piece either directly or indirectly.
Files: these are used to remove relatively small layers of metals to the finished dimension and surface finishing
Templates: are employed for checking the shape of some forgings.
Hand hammer: used for making light forging and also to show the striker where to hit while forging.
Spreader: used for drawing out and spreading metals, they are used in a variety of ways.
Chisel: are used for cutting metals and for making prior to breaking.
**Procedures**
Obtaining the workpiece.
The metal work piece is obtained and dimensioned i.e 180mm in length and 13mm in diameter with the aid of a venier calliper and marked out with chalk or charcoal.
The metal used in first family on the bench vice for cutting which is done with hacksaw and blade.
After cutting the metal is then placed on a open hearth furnace, where it is heated to reddish form. It is placed in the furnace with the aid of tong for about 30 minutes.
The material is brought out of the furnace with the aid of tong by the carrier, it is then placed on the Anvil for the striker to beat it with a hammer for it to be flattened at one end, the striking is done for about 3 to 4 minutes.
After flatness is achieved and hated again to reddish form. The career that brings it out of the furnace with the aid of chisel and hammer, the selected portion of the metal to be fitted inside the wood is then worked on.
The material is then dipped inside water for cooling.
The material is now filled with file to smoothen and furnish it. This is done while the material is forged on the bench vice in the fitting section.
Furnishing is the final stage. The material can be painted to prevent it from exposure to rusting overtime.
**Observation:**
During cutting, the metal felt hot which was due to friction.
The striker was an individual of good and built body structure.
All workers in the workshop were on correct wears and equipments.
**Safety precautions:**
Overall must be worn properly in forging workshop.
What metal should not be held with bare hands but with thong.
All tools and equipment in the workshop must be kept properly and well maintained.

Craving freedom
Good day dear readers, I hope y'all have had a great day today just as I did, today was my last test of the semester, although it didn't seem as if I would pass it but glory be to the almighty God, I feel I did well in it, this course has been my greatest fear since I've resumed school and that's because I was so bad at French in my secondary and primary school, little did I know that GES 108( introduction to French language) was going to be waiting for me in the university but all glory be to God for not allowing me down... Celebrate Grace!!!!🥳🥳🥳. **Before I continue with today's writing, I'd like you to check out my wonderful sponsors...👇**
It's every child's joy to leave their parent's house and atleast have some breathing space and do whatever they wish without getting summoned, this is particularly common among guys and I'd say I was also like that, eager to have my freedom and do things without someone waiting for me to pry into my life, I remember a day that I dared my parents, it was my girlfriend's birthday and I had promised to be at the event, her parents were free about that and they were even in attendance of the birthday party, she was turning 16 so I guess it was going to be a big party and if I had told my parents about it, they would obviously not have allowed me not just because it's going to be at night but how on Earth do I want to tell them I have a girlfriend at 17😱😂. I came back from school that day by 3:30pm, the party was meant to start by 6pm and my parents came back before 5pm, I was not happy to see them back but I couldn't help it.
As they entered, they said they were going to sleep that they had a vigil so I thought it was going to make things easier, so as they slept, I snuck out of the house and came back the next morning but something funny has happened at home as they also slept off and forgot about the vigil, they noticed I was missing and had been waiting for me but as soon as I came back and they could smell alcohol on my shirt, my dad landed me a resounding slap so since then I wanted to leave the house.
I turned 18 years old and I thought I was going to get a little more free from my parent's wishes but it even got worse until I gained admission into the university and all my cravings were satisfied, I could eat what I wanted to eat, get back to my hostel at anytime of the day even though my parents still call me to know if I've entered my hostel back but I could easily lie and deny being outside even when I'm in the middle of the town. What I later found out about being free and able to make decisions on my own is that even though I think I know what I'm doing, in the long run, I'm not still as experienced as my parents. I started seeing the stress my mother went though in stocking the house every month as I could not really manage money on my own and noodles became the main food I eat, I later got used to it and I'm doing fine as I use read.cash to support the allowance that they give monthly.
I went home at the end of last semester and it's being almost three months that I've gone home but it still felt like yesterday and I was getting home sick, so after my second semester tests, I decided to go home, it was really an exciting experience tasting my mother's soup again and I missed the good old days that I used to eat like a glutton 😂😂... When I got home, I was welcomed with pounded yam and vegetable soup even though they all are theirs with egusi, they knew about my allergy to egusi and went an extra mile to make me my delicious vegetable soup.
After I ate, my mum and I had a mother-son discussion, I had really missed that bond as she updated me on all that had happened while I was away, I almost missed my way home as everywhere had changed in no time, even inside our house was now looking cooler as they had changed the furniture and repainted the house. I really felt some kind of relief as I laid on my comfy bed🛏️.
Read and enjoy... Don't forget get to do the needful too😉😊❤️
The lockdown
The first time I heard the word "lockdown" was in the year 2020, it was in a movie, a series actually, Blindspot. The head office of the FBI was under cyber attack and the only way they could find the person who initiated the attack we if they has a building lockdown which they did and eventually failed. So when I heard the government said they wanted to initiate a lockdown to curb the spread of covid-19, I could just but wonder how that wanted to work in Nigeria.
Do you have greater sponsors? Check them out...
***Everything here is said based on my personal knowledge and shouldn't be quoted out of context***
Factors that made the government initiate the lockdown:
**Breaking the covid-19 protocols**
The Covid-19 came in without notice, no one was prepared and we were all caught off guard, a number of directives them came from the World Health Organization on how to prevent the virus from spreading around the country, we were asked to wash our hands for atleast 20 seconds with running water frequently, always wear a nose mask whenever we are leaving our houses, maintain social distance of atleast 2m between two people having a discussion. All these protocols seemed easy when they were first implemented but as time passed, we started seeing the true color of how things played out, people were tired of wearing nose masks maybe because it made respiration a little bit difficult and that was understandable for old people and asthma patients. We also noticed crowding at religious centers, markets, parks, schools and other places. People got out of control and tired because everything seemed like a lie but they were really true because isolation centers were getting filled up exponentially, hand sanitizers became a problem for people to afford as their prices spiked, it was really a mess, so the government had to move their next piece
**The END SARS protest**
One of the greatest events in the history of Nigeria happened around this time of the year also, Nigerian youths for once in a lifetime came out to fight for their rights against police brutality and other illegal behaviors by some of our leaders, the spread of the protest around the country was like that of a wild fire, almost all the states of the country were involved in this protest which later led to a lot of chaos and trouble which involved the looting of palliatives, I'd call this very unfortunate but at the same time, it was what made us happy at home, the drama was top notch, a lot of secret locations where palliatives were being kept illegally were exposed and looted my "hoodlums". Another word I learnt during the lockdown 😊😂. I remember when this hoodlums attacked TVC, it was on a live show of "your view", a program I grew interest in when I was at home, these people came into the TV station and spoilt a lot of things and finally burnt the station down, I was really pained as we were unable to watch TVC for a few days before they came back to broadcast from their station at Abuja but they weren't the same again. A whole lot of incidents unfolded during that period just to mention a few.
**3. Refusal of approval of vaccine**
After this virus started to kill too many people, our scientists had to come up with a solution and the only way they could do that was to make a vaccine since it wasn't responding to drugs. A lot of funds was pumped into the area of research and science in order to make the vaccine or cure, individual counties tried their best, I even remember a country threatening to pull out of WHO because she taught she had found the cure but it later failed, after long days and nights of research, some Organizations could come up with vaccines even though we heard that they were still being tested, reports also claimed that people were reacting to the vaccine in a very weird manner like barking like a god and so on. This really discouraged us from taking the vaccine, nobody wants to die and since people weren't taking the vaccine, the government has to impose a lockdown...
The lockdown has really taught me a whole lot of lessons, the good and the bad one but of all that I gained from this lockdown was **TIME MANAGEMENT**
Thanks for reading 😊❤️

The Dean's Cup group stage
You might be wondering who or what "Dean" means, you might not really know if you're not in the university setting yet but for our elder brothers and sisters can tell. The dean is the head of the faculty. Something else comes to my mind!😂 What's a faculty???... Well, a faculty is a group of departments with related baseline courses, for example, we have the faculty of technology and that comprises of departments that work with the technological aspect of life. We also have the HOD's cup but I'll later edit this post to put the link on my story on the cup because I'm not done writing it yet. I am in the faculty of technology and our Dean's Cup started about two weeks ago and each departments have called on their students from 100l to 500l for training so that they'd be able to play as a team, I was also called on to play but I decided stay on the touch line and take note of what happens so that I'd be able to give a nice report on the Cup. **Here are my sponsors below, do well to check them out**
The training sessions of my department started about a month ago, so did other departments in the faculty. We have eight (8) teams in the faculty of technology:
✓Industrial engineering
✓Electrical and electronics engineering
✓Mechanical engineering
✓Agricultural and environmental engineering
✓Food technology
✓Civil engineering
✓Petroleum engineering
✓Wood products engineering
These eight teams were subdivided into two groups with four teams each, the draws was done by the planning committee of the Dean's Cup, they had one representative of each department at the draws to avoid cheating and the result came out as👇
GROUP A. GROUP B
Civil AEE
Elect elect. F.TECH
IPE. MECH
PET. WPE
It's now the match day four and I've not been able to keep up on updates on the match days one to three but the update reaching me is that from the group B, AEE is going up against WPE today to earn their stay in the dean's cup and proceed in the knockout stage while F.tech pulled out of the competition on the ground that they aren't been treated well by the officials.
It's the Day 4, and IPE's qualification is based on permutation while AEE's qualification lies in their hands because the only way they can qualify is if they beat strong side WPE, while WPE just needs a draw to go to the next stage of the competition... Below is the match day 4 fixtures and the group standings at the moment 👇
THE STANDINGS:
I will also keep you updated on the knockout stage of the competition as we proceed...

2020: what a year!!!
The year 2020 is a very special year in the sense that before we can have such a year with twin double digits again would be in the next one thousand and ten years to come. Since I've been born, the year 2020 has been the most hyped year in my life, it was really a promising year as we've been hearing prophesies of a very great year ahead. I also hoped for a great year as it was my year of resumption into the university. ***LETS TAKE A MINUTE TO SEE MY SPONSORS***
**Thank you sponsors**
On the first day of the year, me and my family attended the cross over night in my church and left the church for our house, we left the church around 1:00am, the road was all smooth as we saw various of people with fire crackers and knock outs even after the government threatened to arrest people with these substances, we met various set of night guards and we had to pay them a token which they tagged as "owo odun" even though we know they'll possibly use the money to buy alcohol but we weren't concerned as we wanted to get back home as early as possible. As soon as we got home, we all just went to bed and slept well even though the noise from the fire crackers in our environment failed to seize. The first day of the year all went well as my parents travelled and I was given the freedom to invite my friends over and also able to go to their houses.
If I am to write exactly what happened day by day till date in the year 2020, I'd have a whole lot to write and probably no be able to publish all but as soon as we entered the second month, my university had to resume but another thing happened, THE LOCKDOWN. when the government declared the lockdown, it was the saddest news of my life and I had to dump all preparations of resuming to school, I was left with no choice other than learning a trade but to choose a trade was also a problem for me because I really don't like doing petty jobs so I asked my Dad to tell me what to do and he suggested two trainings that I later went for and I don't regret learning any of these skills:
***DIGITAL ELECTRONICS***
Not until the day I started going for trainings did I know anything about digital electronics, I had a fore knowledge on basic electronics, I infact could do a lot of things related to electronics since I clocked 15, I even represented my school in different competitions and was always winning medals but I guess that was not enough to learn digital electronics as it had to deal with using the computer to make simulations, when I got to know about the *Proteus 8 software,* I was very happy to have found a software that could save me the stress of soldering components and spoiling them before I get to know the right thing to do. I wish I could explain this better but let me use this instance, in the making of possibly an indicator, we need a resistor because the LED would probably get burnt if it's connected directly, the value of resistor to use can be calculated so as to make the LED bright enough to make and indicator but no one waits to calculate these values again as this software conveniently gives the value of resistor to use, that is not the only thing the software could do as it could also explain the dynamics of all the ICs known, it really made work easy for me and I enjoyed the training.
**INVERTER MAKING**
After my first 3 months of learning digital electronics, I opted in for another training on inverter making, the digital electronics was more on my laptop but inverter making is basically practical, the only part where the system is needed is when we need to create the PCB board designs or pattern as you'd like to call it, the we also used the Proteus app to do some simulations before we finally test these components on the PCB boards, I learnt about the transistors, ICs, MOSFETs among other components I learn how to use them together to form the inverter, I really wish I could continue writing this but I can't possibly write all three months in one article
After my training session, I started preparing for resumption and not long after, we were asked to resume online which we've been doing since first semester, even though it has not been really smooth enough, we've been trying to survive and pull through, it's now October of 2021 and we're almost done with the second semester which is a nice thing because in less than 4 years now, I'll be an engineer which I'm looking forward to. The fact is that if you couldn't do anything in the year 2020, you're not really at fault because things didn't go as planned but don't let that wasted year reflect in your life story, some people made it through that lockdown and some other people lost it, so it all depends on you, you can also use this platform to make things right for you financially...

How covid-19 gave me my first Babe😊
A lot of controversies have been going on about the Covid 19 vaccine that arrived in my country late last year or early this year I suppose. Let me start with how the pandemic all started for the purpose of the unborn children that might need to read this in the nearest future. Around December 2019, we all were living our lives fine and smooth with the hype 'vision 2020" but little did we know that this vision was an illusion of destruction, we all cheered as our political leaders gave us the energy that they've been planning something real good for the new year and we all kept our hopes high. Still in the same December, we heard of an outbreak in Wuhan China but what was our business with China's outbreak after all Asia is quite far from here, but that was what we thought and nobody saw this kind of 2020 coming. Around December ending, this shit started becoming real and lockdowns were imposed in various countries of the world, only Nigeria I suppose wasn't early enough to shut their border as we hoped for a good year 2020. A few days to the new year, it was reported that an Italian had brought the virus into the country and the first ever isolation center was built, the irony of it all is that the Italian was healed but it was too late as he had already spread it in the plane he boarded to Nigeria, this virus kept spreading and spreading, the new year also came and a lot of mixing together during the festive period happened and even fueled the spread of this dangerous disease. ***BEFORE I CONTINUE, I'D LIKE US TO TAKE A LOOK AT THESE NICE SPONSORS OF MINE***
**Do well to check them out too**
We all hoped nothing went worse as we started recording minute cases per day but the testing kits were not enough, as they supplied more kits, the figures spiked and more isolation centers were built in haste. States continued to clamour as their citizens didn't heed to the protocols so the federal government had to come in with a lockdown to reduce movements, a whole lot of things happened during the lockdown which I'd write about in my subsequent stories. The lockdown was finally called off and we were asked to resume school, we resumed online, it wasn't really easy if you'd ask me but we had no choice, it went on and on like that for months until we started hearing about the vaccines that arrived in Nigeria, those vaccines came with loads of rumour about how it can malfunction in the human body and make humans bark.
I called my dad to ask him if I should take the vaccine as soon as it reached my school, he is a medical doctor so he told me the exact type I should take and where I should take it, I also went there to make enquires and they gave me the scheduled date, it was the next Friday. I couldn't wait for the Friday to come to get vaccinated and be free from the stress of putting nose masks on anywhere I go.
The day finally came and I headed to the center where I was located, I waited for almost an hour and they weren't showing forth, I was almost bored to death, but at last they showed forth and I was given the first jab of the vaccine, I was given another appointment for the second dose of the vaccine, when I got back to the hostel, I felt some pain but paracetamol solved the problem, after that I felt no pain, after 24 days of taking myfirst vaccine, I went to receive the second jab of the vaccine, I got there as early as possible but I didn't meet anyone there, I waited for so long and I was about to leave when a young lady came in, she was also for the vaccination so I used that opportunity to talk to her, it was my first time of doing such but since I was bored, I needed it. She told me her name was Mercy, we talked about her department, she is in the arts class, as we were talking, those people came by and I got by jab as she got hers too and I got her contact and promised to give her a call as soon as I get get back to the hostel but as I got back, the symptoms of the covid 19 vaccine came to play as I was really weak and in pain, so I had to go to the hospital the next day to complain and I was given some pain relief tablets which I used to reduce the pain but I didn't feel so good for the rest of the week but as soon as I felt okay, I was happy that at last I was okay and over all that I got the contact of that new babe because she's now my new babe ❤️...
So covid-19 gave me my babe🤗🌹

My naming ceremony
Who else introduces himself after one week of joining read.cash? I guess only SEMAJ does that!!! You all might be wondering what Semaj means, I'll get to that in a minute. Today marks the seventh day of my stay on read.cash and the normal tradition at least in Nigeria, is that the naming ceremony of a child is done a week which is on the seventh day after the child must have been born into the world and that's exactly what I'm doing today!" My christening on read.cash" but before I continue, I'd like you to check out my sponsors down here.
My name is James, I guess I don't need to mention my surname because I don't even tell any of my names like this because if you'd ask me, I'd call that boring and too formal but I'll do that today because of the people that are just getting to know me. I'm of average height even though a lot of people tag my height as short but I guess once I'm taller than 4 feets, then I assume I'm tall, my fellow shorties would agree to that😂😂😂.
I won't say I'm really funny or jovial but if you're funny enough, then we'd flow no matter what because I Stan Sir Isaac Newton's third law of motion that states "for every action, there's an equal but opposite reaction", so I give you exactly the same vibe you give me so bad energy stays far away.
I'm really ambitious especially when there's something attached as a driving force like money. Who doesn't like money? I doubt anyone can cast their first stone at me, so money sometimes acts as the driving force in my being ambitious.
I'd just go straight to my school life, I attended almost four schools before my last secondary school where I graduated from, I was a really shy person to the extent that I couldn't talk to ladies, but I think I should call them girls since we were even way younger at that point. I can remember when I was in primary five, there was this girl I really liked, her name is yetunde but I couldn't move so close to her not to talk of asking her out or something, so I told one of my friends, Claudius. He was the closest to me so he was the only one I could confide in, so I asked Claudius to help me tell her how exactly I felt about her but he told me how weird that sounded, that I had to do it by myself but I didn't have the mind to do it so he suggested I wrote a love letter which I decided to write it because I thought that was my best shot, so I wrote it, and he helped me put it in between her mathematics textbook, so we waited to see her check the textbook, she then came and saw the letter and smiled and I thought I got her already until she showed her girly attitude when she called her friends, showed them and they all chanted, "go and show aunty". They all went there and when our teacher came back, she couldn't say who exactly had the handwriting and that was how I escaped that day's problem.
From that day till my SS1, I couldn't talk to girls, I infact feared girls until I got to SS1 and I met another friend, Miji and started rolling with him and his friends too, he was very good at talking to girls and tricking them to do anything for him, it was like as if he had the password to their hearts so I got to learn a lot from him as I became more social even though I was not on any social media at that point but that was my next step, I joined WhatsApp first and messaged a few of my friends and as I came to class the next day, they started calling me social guy but that wasn't a nickname I'd like so I met Miji again to help me out in the change of nickname, he asked for the ones I had in mind but none of them made sense to him, so he asked me to give him thirty minutes and I came back on the 29th minute but he was already by the marker board writing in big characters SEMA... I wondered what that meant until he put the last alphabet to make SEMAJ as everyone shouted an all eyes were on me, they asked him how the name was coined but he told them to guess but only the smart guy with glasses that sits in front could tell that it's JAMES written from the back...
Thanks for Reading ❤️
Shame is a stigma
I am the last child of the Oriyomi's family, being a last child in other homes might mean enjoyment but in my home, it was kind of different as my parents weren't really buoyant financially to put all of us through school, we took turns to go to school, we were six children, the eldest child of my mother just concluded her master's degree which was a good one as she could now fend for herself, and could infact support my parents in putting me through school.
At this point, I was in Junior second school three preparing for my Junior WAEC examination, I told my mum to inform my sister about the payment of my external exam but my mum insisted that she could get some cash to gather because she didn't want to disturb my sister, if I had a phone, I'd have put a call through to her but the whole family shared the same phone and my mum was in charge of it, the examination date was getting close so as the date of the deadline for the registration of the examination, I was getting more scared as my mum had not said anything concerning the money, I understood she was old and my dad was even older but her resilience to tell my sister who could be of help was appalling. ***LETS TAKE A MINUTE TO SEE MY SPONSORS***
**Thank you sponsors** 💥💥
In the long run, the date for the deadline of the registration of the examination came by and she was yet unable to provide a dime, it was at that point that she knew the urgency and that she had to call my sister but I guess it was too late just like my sister said "I'm not a magician neither am I a politician that can have money on me anytime". I was not angry at my sister at all, it was my mum that really delayed the information but I couldn't do anything about it, I had to wait another extra year before I can take the examination again, my sister was really pissed so she promised to come and take me away from my old parents as soon as she got married in the next few months.
I couldn't wait for her wedding day to come as I was not just happy that she was getting married but I'll also start living in the city and for once in my life be a "modern lady" as my sister would say. At last was the wedding day and we travelled from the village to Akure, the wedding ceremony was really splendid and fun as well, the couples after the wedding went to their new abode in Lagos and after a week, I was called to their house to start living with them, they were really nice couples and her husband was rich and able to sponsor me to the best school in the city, I wrote my exams after that year and went on to the next phase which was the senior secondary school, it was really good living in the city and that was how my life began a new stage, after my sister was delivered of her first baby, she got a houseboy to take care of the house and do other outside work like washing the cars and feeding the poultry and this went on and on until this fateful day as I came back from school, tired and frustrated. I didn't meet my sister and her husband at home, only the houseboy, kunle was around. He came to meet me and started behaving funny and naughty but I shouted at him forgetting his age, I didn't know that he got offended but he didn't show it, and since he didn't show it, I didn't also bother to tell my sister when she got back, the following weekend showed and it was a different story as my sister's husband offered to sleep with me in the absence of my sister, I pleaded with him not to take advantage of me and my sister but he wouldn't listen, the houseboy silently recorded as we had made love and showed me the next day.
I was dazed and confused as I was caught red handed, he promised to keep it a secret from my sister if I agreed to make love with him also. I was left with no choice and had to satisfy me not knowing that'd be the start of a problem in my life as he kept asking for sex periodically which I was unable to deny, in the long run, I got pregnant and didn't know who's pregnancy it was. My sister was disappointed in me when she got to find out I slept with her husband because she happened to see the video so she thought the baby was for her husband, I tried explain to her but to no avail. She sent me back to the village and I was the talk of the week as I carried the house boy's baby about in the village. It was really a regrettable experience...
High school robbery
You might really think it's hard for you to find an highway robber in secondary school but I tell you for sure that whatever you become is as a result of the friends and people you mixed yourself with in your young days...
For my secondary school, I attended Forcados high school and it was a really nice school academically though. I am obviously not an academic student, I prefer to go out and catch fun to staying in a boring class for hours, but you can trust Nigerian Parents and their criticism about not going school so I guess I had no choice but to attend but if I was given the chance to choose, I'd prefer to become a web designer and developer but my parents counted any job that involves the use of laptop for the whole day as internet fraud. That's no surprise as the level of internet fraud in the country is at a very alarming rate.
The first day I got to that School made me think I'd get to love school as I walked down the hallway and I saw a very beautiful girl, as a sharp guy. I approached her to get to know her but as I got close enough, the school bell rang for us to resume classes, it was a new setting so I hardly recognized anybody, everyone say down individually and some in groups, as I went to my seat, I sighted this same girl that I saw on the hallway again, I couldn't afford to miss this opportunity so I got close her and introduced myself to her as Neil, she told me her name is Freda, "what a nice name". I thought as we got to talk more and more, I even had to move my seat to stay right beside her and we became friends at that point until when I got to know that she had a Boyfriend on the school already, I got intimidated but I wanted her so badly, when I met the guy she claimed to be with, he was the head boy so I knew I had to play my games well if I didn't want to get into trouble with the school authorities. I was left with the chance to just do things and impress her so it came to this day that she brought her phone to school even though we've been warned before hand that we shouldn't bring all these gadgets to school but we were boarders and there was no way we'd be in school especially during weekends, we'd get bored and most likely die of boredom.
On a sunny Saturday, she came to meet me during our lunch period, she looked very sad and worried, so I asked her to know what was wrong but she said I shouldn't worry, I didn't stop asking her until she later came out to tell me that the house mistress found out about her phone and has seized it, I was sad for her for some second and asked her if she could wait for her boyfriend to get it for her on Monday but she said she wasn't sure he'd be able to help her because the house mistress is a really crazy woman so I thought that if I could be her hero in this situation, I probably would get a chance to get her love. I told her no to be worried as I would get a solution for her and get her phone back to her.
As I got back to the dormitory, I told my guys that we had a mission that night and we were to break into the house mistress's office and get the phone back for my crush, they all agreed to begin the operation by 10pm. Our house master came to check us around 9:30 and bid us goodnight. We planned how it'll go and promised nothing would go wrong but as we approached her office, we heard some voices from the office,we stood behind the building and waited for the people there to leave, as soon as the light in the building went off, we stroke...
We entered through the back window which was opened for us luckily by her carelessness, we couldn't use the light in the office so we had to use our phones lights, as we searched through the office, we at last saw about 10 set of phones. My friends said we should take all the phones and make it look like a real robbery so there won't be any trace but as we argued and quarrelled, a flash of light ran though the office. We were all in trouble no doubt, the only thing we were thinking of was how to escape back to our hostels so we took turns as we climbed the window out of the office, I was the last to leave the office and it was too late for me as I was unable to jump out in time and the night guard caught me with the phones, I was locked in the guard room till the next morning when I was taken to the principal office and given was alleged of breaking into the mistress's office and stealing school items and I was suspended for 3 weeks but before I left the school, I went to meet Freda to explain how sorry I was not to be able to help her and for messing things up, she wasn't even ready to listen to me as she said I was interested to steal the phone and not helping her...
After that day, I swore never to indulge in anything that would lead me to robbery again😓.

"Gosh! I'm starving." exclaimed Ayomide, my little brother just as his stomach made a rumbling sound. Okay maybe not so little, he did turn 18 few weeks ago.
"FFO, why do you have to like food so much?" I replied playfully jabbing his arm.
"Well you can't blame me, we have been here for some hours nah. Besides, I am a man now." He said flexing his biceps. "And that means more food."
I couldn't help but laugh. "You do know that if you were in school, you could still be in a class right now." I frown as I remember that ASUU have been on strike for over 6 months now. The corona out break was also particularly responsible, but at least, the dangerous times are over.
"Why is our government so inconsiderate." Ayo replied. "They should consider we students nah!"
"They are useless jare." A young man to my right contributed. "Just think about it, we have been here for 2 weeks now, still no response from them."
I couldn't help but agree with him. The ENDSARS protest has been going on for several weeks now. We are presently gathered at the Lekki, Toll gate preventing the use of the major highway. We have been doing so for the past 2 weeks and so far, our peaceful protests have received little positive results.
"We have to persevere. It is high time things turned around for good in this country." Another lady commented.
"Did you hear the latest news?" My brother asked.
I rolled my eyes at that. "Amebo.com. Sometimes I wonder why you came as a boy." I laugh.
"Trust me, this one is juicy. CBN gave an order that if anyone is having transactions based on the ENDSARS protest, their account would be frozen!"
Slight gasps were heard from several people. I couldn't believe my ears. "You mean they really did that?"
"Yes o!" Another man replied. "My uncle's Access bank account got frozen when he tried transferring money to me this morning." He lamented.
"That is so cruel of them. Have they no human feelings" I felt so disgusted by the actions of our so called leaders.
" Nah wah for this government o. Where we still dey complain say no money, them dey freeze accounts." Another man commented shaking his head.
"All they care about is stuffing their own pockets with money. And it is said that the world's richest thieves are found in this country!"
"Really? And who are those thieves o?"
"Our politicians of course!" Ayo said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Who else could it be?"
"But isn't this amazing!" a man exclaimed.
"What is amazing?" I asked out of curiosity.
"This…" He made a sweeping motion all around him with his hands. "Is amazing. The fact that all our youths could put aside their differences, tribes, religion and political parties and come together for a just cause!"
I couldn't help but agree with him. "You are right. It is pretty amazing and I hope it yields the positive results we want."
"Sista mi, isn't it time for you to call mama. You know that ever since the death of broda Kunle, she has become quite paranoid."
I felt myself tear up at the mention of my big brother. He was an hardworking and ambitious young man but his life was cut short when he was shot dead by a SARS official all because of his IPhone! He worked very hard to get that phone, he always loved to get one.
That was what prompted me to join the protest in the first place. We have to put an end to police brutality in this country.
"I'm sorry I reminded you of big bro, I miss him very much." He said tearing up a bit.
"I know, Ayo. I miss him too, very much. Although we can't change the past, we can make preparation for a safer future." I comforted him. "Let me call mama." I took out my phone to put a call through to her.
"That's weird." I muttered.
"What is weird?" He asked.
"I can't seem to reach her. I am not getting any signal!"
"Here, let's try using mine." He took out his phone and tried reaching her but we got the same result.
" Maybe it's the network sha, we will tr……" I was cut short when we were suddenly plunged into darkness.
"Kilosele bayi!" "Nah wah o!" "O ga o!" Several complaints could be heard from the protesters.
"What do you think could have happened?" Ayo asked beside me.
"I have absolutely no idea. Maybe it's a power outage or something." We both sat in comforting silence afterwards. Several minutes later, my attention was drawn to a couple of vehicles coming towards us. I tried using my hands to shield my eyes as their lights were blinding.
"They are not stopping, who do you think they are?"
I watched as the vehicles came to a stop and some men alighted from the vehicles.
"I think it is the army!" Someone in the crowd shouted.
"The army?" I thought, "What could they want with us. We are causing no trouble." That was when I noticed everyone began to hold hands and started singing the national anthem.
"Why are you singing the national anthem." I asked turning to a man on my left.
"That's because it was revealed that the army won't attack anyone singing the national anthem." He replied.
"Oh!" I turned to Ayo, "Give me your hands." Joining hands with mine, we sang the national anthem along with the others.
"….To serve our father land
With love and strength and faith
The labour of our heroes past
Shall nev….."
Suddenly, we heard a gunshot! That was when all hell was let loose. They had opened gunfire directly at us!
"Oh my God! Ayo, don't let go of my hands." I shouted. It was quite dark and we could hardly see. There was chaos everywhere and the gunshots could still be heard. I couldn't see where we were going and I tripped on something or was it ……
"Oh my God! Someone's been hit!" Ayo shouted. I could hardly hear him over the noise.
"Let's just ke…." Ayo's hand were suddenly snatched away from mine. The problem had escalated quickly and we were separated admist the chaos.
"Ayo! Ayo!!" I tried looking for him but it was too dark, everyone was running for their lives.
"Ayo! Aargh!" I fell to my knees as I felt an excruciating pain in my abdomen. I tried crawling but the pain was unbearable, I was loosing blood at an alarming rate. As I slipped into unconsciousness, my last thoughts were about my little brother.

Deceit in disguise
Out of the five children that Mr. Kyllian gave birth to, only Mercy was the female child and this is not surprising in her attitude as she behaves like a child, Mercy is the second child of Mr. Kyllian's family but it wasn't obvious as they treated her with maximum care like as if she's the last child. She grew up in her father's home town, where she had her primary school education, this was her father's choice as he said he doesn't want his children to lose the dignity of their culture. When she finished her primary school education, she was to travel to Lagos to further her education in a unique boarding secondary School because her parents based in the village, it's not like they don't have the money to relocate which they almost did considering their only daughter leaving them miles away but they summoned courage and let her go.
When she got to Graceville college, she met a lot of people and forgot the values that her father used to tell her about, this was no surprise to me as she was never exposed to such a beautiful lifestyle before, when she got to the senior secondary school she met a lot of people and mixed up with anybody that seemed to give her attention but there was this very poor friend of hers that they were so close, her name was Cynthia, Cynthia warned mercy times without number but Mercy would never listen.
On the 12th of December was Isaac's birthday and he planned to throw a party at his house, when mercy heard about it, she was interested in the party but she was being restricted as she's a boarding house student and the only way she could attend the party was to sneak out of the hostel at night and possibly come back the same night as planned. Mary never told Cynthia anything about the party as she could predict what she'll say so she didn't bother asking her.
On this fateful day, around 6pm when it was time for prep reading and snuck out of school to attend Isaac's birthdays party, she was obviously not even invited as she isn't even a close friend to Isaac but he couldn't chase her back. So while at the party, they all danced and drank, she was under the influence of of hard drug when she was approached by a young man, he introduced himself as Prince and she was fooled by his looks and fell for his expensive looks as she thought he was the son of a very rich man as he posed to be, they started their friendship and eventually started dating and Mary would sometimes sneak out of the school to meet this guy, on the long run, she got pregnant for him, she was taken to the hospital by Prince and it was confirmed that she was 2 months pregnant, the pregnancy was too late to be aborted and she had no choice than to keep the baby but she had to be careful to avoid her teachers notice that she was pregnant not to talk of her parents, she felt like a disappointment to herself and her friends. She got an idea of tucking her baggy shirts out to cover the secret of her already protruding belly but she couldn't keep her dizziness and irritations away from her hostel mates but they helped her keep it away from the school authorities but this was impossible when she was five months pregnant and it was now getting obvious that she was putting on weight and having a bigger belly.
Mrs. Bello was the first to notice her but she lied that she over ate that day and after school that day, she snuck out again to meet prince at their Meetup point, she explained to him how she couldn't keep the pregnancy any more and prince suggested they they both run away to his parent's place and stayed there till she got delivered of the baby. She was surprised and asked if it was smart for her to stay in the same city that her school is as an hiding place from shame, but it turned out that his real residence was in the village in Calabar State and he was just a mere house boy that had access to the wealth of his boss in Lagos... She was highly disappointed in herself because she was played by **"deceit in disguise".**
First sight love gone wrong
I met Dray at a family party, I mean the party of one of our family friends, we were not really related by blood because the celebrant was the cousin of the person I knew, Sarah. Sarah invited me for the party and I couldn't turn her down because she was a bit older than I am, the party was to start around 4pm but you can trust Nigeria with their African time mentality, so we started the party around 6pm with songs of different choices of the Disk Jockey.
Dray came in late for the party, he got there about an hour after the party had started, I guess he did that to gain attention as he got me tripping too, the music went down as soon as he made his way into the auditorium and the search lights beamed on him as everyone applauded and stood to cheer him, I was just there confused and curious to know who he really was, as soon as he made his way into the Hall, he started spraying bills of money and that was when it dawned on him that he must be the rich guy my friend used to talk about so I comported myself and hoped that he'd make his way to where I was seated and ask me to the dance floor, this didn't happen for the first 40 minutes of his arrival until he got all drunk, I guess he was the shy kind, my heart skipped beats as he approached me, I was definitely in love already, "hey beauty!" He said, I looked so surprised and lost of ideas before I got myself back together and replied him, we talked for about 10 minutes at the bartender seat.
Thereafter he asked me to the dance floor and I felt really privileged because what other thing does a lady of my type want apart from having a rich man in my life, we danced for a few minutes, he thought me new dancing steps and it was all fun and I didn't regret any minute of the party, he then asked me out on a date, gave me his business card and I promised to give him a call after the party, at this point, I couldn't wait for the party to end, it was really looking like I was getting obsessed by someone I had just met in the last 3 hours. I had to call myself in order to keep my "lady pride", I dialed his number on my phone and hesitated to dial it for more than an hour, I was just startled and smiling like a mumu on my bed. At exactly 9pm, I summoned the courage to call him, he didn't pick up the call, I was tempted to call again but I thought about it, he could have been tired and possibly slept off immediately he got home, in not less than 10 minutes, his call entered my phone, my hand froze as I was about to pick the call, his voice was even cooler on phone and I started blushing even though my voice was scared, I went on till I got the message. He invited me over to a restaurant of high standard which I agreed almost immediately after he asked.
On this faithful day, he picked me up with his Mercedes Benz outside my house and I felt like a queen and all that was going through my mind was that if he asks me out, I'm definitely gonna to give him a positive answer as he drove inside his fully air conditioned Benz with a touch of soft and cool music, I asked him what job he was doing and he said he was into crypto currency exchange, I believed at once because where else could he get such money, I asked if he had a house, he said yes and I looked forward to going to see his mansion.
As soon as we got to the restaurant, I started having goosebumps as it was my first time entering such an elegant restaurant, we ate and had a little talk before we headed out, I thought he was going to drop me off and leave but he took me out for shopping to pick some groceries, I was so delighted and thankful as well, it was now getting obvious that I was tripping big time, after the shopping, we got back into the car and we started heading towards my house, as soon as he pulled over, he called me and said "the first time I set my eyes on you, I fell in love already and he'd be happy if I give him a chance in my life". I was short of words as the feeling was mutual but I told him to give me time to think about it, he gave me a warm hug and I dropped off smiling as I walked into our gate, as soon as he got home again, he called me and reminded me to please consider his offer and I promised to do so as he bid me goodnight.
He is really caring, my heart tells me but it's not been too long I knew him but who cares, I'd get to know him better when we start to date so on our next meeting I confessed my feelings to him too and he hugged me and gave me the best kiss I'd ever get in life, I was really happy I was getting settled in life, our relationship was really enjoyable but the only issue I had with him was that I never got to know his house and it was really getting suspicious and I was more curios to know why he didn't want me to know his house so I insisted he took me to his apartment which he at last agreed to.
On the fateful day he came to pick me as usual, I had prepared before hand for his coming and he drove me to his skyscraper, we both entered and I wondered more and more why he has decided to keep such a beautiful place from me, we headed to his room and I entered, he left the room and two muscular men entered the room and took hold of me and tied me to a chair and brought out some charms and made a few incantations, I was scared to death, they didn't seem to understand themselves so they all went out of the room to discuss and I used that opportunity to use the nail behind the chair to get loose from the chair and escaped though the window of the room, I ran as fast as I could and as soon I reached the main road, I took bike to my house and swore never to fall in love with a man I am just meeting for the first time...

Laziness is a parasite...
There was this lady I met at the university in my second year when I attended a practical class, we were grouped to have the practical session together and since Favour was so beautiful, I took it as an advantage to meet her and know her better.
Before the practical started, we had a brief talk about how she ended up being a tech student and we kind of flowed as she made me understand her reason for being in the technology faculty. She claimed to have come from a very wealthy family and as she is the only daughter of her family, so she was really a pampered kid as she was not allowed to do most of the house chores not to talk of cooking, "I don't cook because cooking is stressful and I don't like anything that stresses me". She said, I was surprised but I couldn't show my surprise because she was a beautiful lady and I didn't want to spoil my relationship with her on just the first day of meeting her, but I was legit surprised that a lady in her second year in the university couldn't cook because she claims it's stressful.
I kept all that to myself as we continued the practical class we were having, she just stood by me and watched me as I did the hard parts of the practical, all she was doing was to take readings of the metre rule and other apparatus that we were using but I didn't complain owing to the fact that she was a lady and I was to prove that men are stronger than Ladies.
After the practical class, we submitted and I got to get her number which she didn't hesitate to give me but little did I know that I was only blinded by her beauty and accent. We got to know each other better on WhatsApp, on the first night, we were in call for up to two hours, and it was really amazing as she didn't get tired, I was falling in love so quickly as she got through me more and more. After about four months of constant chatting and calling and several dates, I decided to take her serious and we started our relationship. It was heaven on Earth because favour was the kind of social girl that knew how to entertain people at the expense of their money, she got me to take her out which we both enjoyed, we went to visit places, took a lot of pictures, ate a lot of food and it was really satisfying because I had never gotten someone to love me that much. The only problem I had with her was her laziness but I was totally blinded by her love and care for me so I didn't take it as an issue, we got to date till our graduation when I was really scared we were going to break apart because of the National youth service corps but we were lucky to be posted in the same state and same school to teach, it was a blessing in disguise for me to know her true color as I invited her over to my place during a weekend and insisted that she cooked for me which she obviously refused but I got to encourage her that I'll be of help to her and she won't be stressed. She was to cook rice and stew, it was not believable when she cooked her so called rice 😂, she didn't put enough salt in the rice and put too much salt in the sauce but I don't know why I didn't care about it and moved on like nothing happened.
In the long run, I introduced her to my family and we did our traditional wedding which she wasn't feeling too okay with, so we later had to have our court wedding, after the wedding, we lived together as a couple and every day of our first two months together were spent in eateries, she couldn't go to the market and buy food stuffs, I was okay with it because she was pregnant at that point in time and I didn't want to stress the pregnancy so I let it go but after she delivered our first child, she started putting up her lazy attitude even more than she used to do when she was pregnant, she insisted that I got to employ an House help to be doing to chores, I was personally against that because I don't want anyone living with my family not even when we just got married, she began to make a big deal out of it and reported me to her parents, they also didn't take it likely with me and accused me of making their daughter a house wife. I explained to them why I didn't want to get an house help but they insisted which was getting out of my power so I invited my parents over and also told them about the issue, they called a meeting with her parents and the both of us.
My mum asked her parents if their daughter must get everything she wants and as I can't be an idol for their family, my wife heard this and over reacted and reached for my mummy's face with a resounding slap. I was really pissed off and wanted to fight my wife but I have been warned by my parents prior this time not to ever raise a finger against a woman, I reached for my mum to cool her temper, but the most painful part of it was that my wife didn't feel any remorse and her parents were even in support of her foolish attitude, they walked out on us with their daughter and my child, the next thing I heard from favour was to sign the divorce letter which she had documented already. I wasn't in haste to sign it but she insisted so I had to sign it including all the terms and conditions that came with the letter which included 50% of my wealth at the point of divorce, it was a bitter experience and I understood that not only being lazy is a problem but also bring too close with a lazy person is a sickness 😬...
Earned trust flops
Ada and I were very close friends in school, not only were we friends but also classmates and we did a lot of things in common, I took her as a sister and I guessed she did too because we were very close to the extent that our parents knew each other, they even paid each other visits just based on the kind of bond their daughters share, it was really part of the good old memories I had in secondary school as people mistook us as a twin or siblings but we were really just family friends as I knew all her siblings and she knew mine too, I guess there's nothing that we didn't share in common.
I remember a night that we both went out to chill, our parents were so worried about us that they started making calls to everyone that might have seen us, but because her parents are more strict, we didn't go to their house, she slept in our house and that saved her from the punishment that was waiting for her if she had gone home that night, this relationship didn't just go on like that for just secondary school, it continued to the university, even though we didn't attend the same university, the bond even seemed to grow stronger as I am always in video calls with her, we talk for averagely nothing less that three hours in a day.
The whole friendship went on and on smoothly till we finished our stay in the university, she studied Economics and I studied Microbiology in the university, after graduation, she got a high paying job in an insurance company while I worked with drug making company which was directly beside the company where she worked as an insurance manager. This was really coincidence and it really showed how bonded we were that fate couldn't separate us. Since we worked not too far from each other, we rented the same apartment and lived together and we were once more like our secondary school days, exactly like siblings but this time it was really more obvious because we weren't living under our parents anymore but in our own apartment with our own space so I got to really know her well and good that I was even sure I would know her past her husband whenever she gets married. This relationship went on and on for years till Ada got an opportunity to leave the country, this was the first time that circumstance would attempt to break us apart, even though we were still talking online, it wasn't really like when she was in Nigeria and moreso I was already married.
I needed to take good care of my husband and children so this really took her off the radar for a while till she came back to the country and located me, I was once in a long time happy to see her again, there were a lot of things to talk about, we talked for hours that day till we got tired and she came to sleep over in my house, I introduced her to my husband even though I had told him about her before but it was his first time seeing her apart from video calls, not long after she left the country that I got married, I resigned my job and joined my husband's business as we both went into full business, on hearing this, Ada told me that when she got to Canada, she couldn't really find a job that suited her line of study so she also got into business and she offered us to he business partners, my husband and I discussed this and agreed since she was married to a white man and she should have some Connection with Canada which would move our business to the next level. She was also happy that we took the offer but little did I know what was about to happen.
I was blinded by the trust I had in her from secondary school, we started this joint business and Ada was our exporter and she used to go on behalf of the joint business to the US, UK and other countries that our products reached, this gave us more trust in her and we sat back and forgot she was human. The business grew bigger and better in the coming years, all of us lived a happy life and felt fulfilled until she came back from Sweden this particular month and asked if we wished to expand our business, I was covetous and didn't think of it before I forced my family into it, she was to donate 5 million naira and my family was to donate another 5 million naira, she claimed that she wanted to bring some products from Sweden and the custom in the country is making it really hard so she needs money to push the goods here and promised it will yield profit, I was blinded by the profits we made together in the recent years so I went into loan and used my car and our house as collateral, gave her the money and she went away with it, we tried reaching her but to no avail, we were scared that something bad had happened to her but we couldn't get any tangible news so we assumed that she would come back sooner or later, I was in this debt for years, worked hard as the business runs down rapidly, I borrowed money to pay my debt, it was really a bad experience not just because I was the one who was scammed but because I had brought this on my family but I was lucky to have an understanding husband, after eight months of her disappearance, I received a letter from Ada saying " I am now very rich, thanks to you and your stupid husband".
I couldn't show my husband as I keep it to myself and cried for days because I had learnt my lesson in a very hard way.
Thanks for reading.

Honesty is the best policy
Mrs. Cinderella is a woman of high standard and virtue, she is a very respected and intelligent woman that takes no case of fraud and fraudulent act likely, she so frowns at people that steal to the extent that she can stop being one's friend for acting being smart fraudulently in accounting for money, she was almost named Mrs honesty because of her level of truthfulness.
This is no surprise as the home she was from was a home of truthful and honest parents, her father and mother were both bankers and they were never questioned about any missing fund in the bank in which they worked, this was part of the reasons why she also aspired to become a banker which she achieved as she is the head of the Unity bank, along Irewole road. In her life story when she became the manager of Unity bank, she told us about how truthful and honest her parents were before they died. she said they were the ones that spur in her the spirit of being truthful which has been a trademark for her till the moment she was being appointed the manager of the well respected bank. Even though she wasn't opportuined to be sponsored by her parents past the secondary school level, she didn't take that as an excuse for being bias or being a cheat.
In her story, despite the fact that she lost her parents at a young age, she decided to be loyal and honest and she was well known for that which made her lucky to get employed in a commercial Bank as a messenger. In the back at which she worked at that time, she was known for her truthfulness and honesty as she never joined other staffs to cheat the bank or cheat other people, and she always told the others that if they could all be as honest as she is, there would be no cases of fraudulent practices in our bank institutions. In a lot of ways did she stop some other staffs from carrying out their fraudulent practices either by telling the boss or encouraging them not to do such evil to the institution that pays them salaries at regular intervals, she was known to the extent that other staffs of the bank would never let her know of any fraud they plan amongst themselves.
Her act of honesty later paid off on a particular hot afternoon around 2pm when a gang of robbers broke into the bank that she worked, all the staffs of the bank were ushered to the hallway in the bank and they took the manager along with them as they left the remaining of us lying down with two hefty men armed with guns which look like AK47, we were all scared to death as we didn't hear back from the director not knowing that they were carting away cash from the back of the bank into the car they brought, periodic gun shots were heard outside the bank and everywhere was calm as these people did all they were at the bank for, at the end of the robbery, it was reported that all the cash available in the bank that very day was carried away by these evil men, the bank sought for advise to avoid it's collapse as insurance came to the rescue, we were all given a week break to see therapists and get ourselves back after we must have been frightened after hearing gunshots.
We all resumed back to work the following Monday, luckily for us, nobody was injured and no death was recorded,we got back to our work and I went to clean the back of the bank, as I was doing my cleaning, I was also to dispose cartons of failed transaction papers, it was an order from the manager. As I got closer to the carton, I noticed that the cartons were not just filled with paper but naira bills among some other currencies, "I was obviously tempted to keep some bills" she said. But she never did because of the virtue in her, she called the MD of the bank and reported to him and he followed her to where the money was discovered and he testified to it that the robbers were in a hurry to leave was why they forgot some bills, the bills were carried back to the vault and she was reported to the overall owner of the bank and she was honoured with a sum of #500,000. Her promotion from that day henceforth was as rapid up till date as she was being appointed the new Manager of the institution. She mounted the podium and said " HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY".
