#vinylrecords #vinyl #records #vinyljunkie #LedZeppelin Led Zeppelin - Celebration Day (2012) Some people may claim this is not 'truly' Led Zeppelin since it does not feature original drummer John Bonham whom died in 1980---but it DOES have John's son Jason playing percussion, so it's the next best thing. This was recorded during a live show in 2007 as a tribute concert to the late Ahmet Ertegun who had died the previous year and had been the president of Atlantic Records (Zeppelin's 'home' label). Rather a long listen, all three albums clock in at 1 hour 55 minutes playing time. What a set of songs! It's weird how some people are anal about band lineups and authenticity. Instrument tones can be configured to sound identical to the original (with the exception of maybe vocals). But I'd say this lineup is still 100% Zeppelin.
It's really a great show. You can almost hear Jason 'channeling' his father. Plant doesn't have the vocal range he used to (but hell neither do I, part of the gig) so some things are in a slightly different key, but it is 2 hours of premium rock 'n' roll.
Myklj thanks for these posts. I enjoy them a lot since i'm constanly learning new facts about classic bands man. Now im gonna be more savvy whenever someone asks wtf it's going on with Led Zepellin :P
