8:00 A.M. Wednesday 14 December 2022 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA When was the last time you watched a VHS tape on your VCR? I got my first TCL/Roku TV 4 years ago today - and just finally got around to buying the stuff to run the a/v signal (RCA jacks) from the back of the VCR into an adapter which comes out as an HDMI signal that goes to the TV. Now I can start going through the music collection of VHS tapes I have - starting out with R.E.M.'s 'Road Movie', which chronicles 19 songs from the final three nights of the 1995 'Monster' tour.

Unfortunately, I don't have the VCR anymore, but there are a lot of video tapes that I can't watch, but I have many fond memories of them.
The better question for me would be, "When is the last time you owned a VCR?" I cannot even tell you how many years it has been. If it is any consolation I also do not currently own a DVD player.
I picked up a clean Panasonic stereo HQ VHS deck several years ago for $5 just because. Kinda glad I did, got a box of various tapes with U2 and Jane's Addiction and Faith No More and Nirvana and REM and NIN and such from my youngest brother so of course I ran the audio outs to the Marantz system. Rocks pretty damn hard.
