6:30 A.M. May 01, 2022 Somewhere in a galaxy far, far away... Did it ever occur to you that maybe the birds are NOT singing, that instead they are screaming in fear because they are scared of heights? And did you know one call of the Blue Jay sounds eerily like a rusted gate swinging in the wind? While #1 is certainly the after-effects of early morning toking, the second is absolutely true. I'd been trying to identify the sound for a few days and finally gave up yesterday and Googled it. These are an extremely noisy and quite aggressive bird, and will run all the other birds off of the feeder when it comes. The photo is of it checking the ground under the feeder for any stray peanuts that might have fallen (jays love peanuts).
