I'm not sure if the trail camera got any photos but I was able to grab several looking out the front door this morning of a pair of deer that stopped by to feed for a bit. Unfortunately I was in a bit of a hurry so most of the photos are a bit blurry but I sorted out a few that are fairly good.

I do love seeing these beautiful deer seen a bunch the other day on my way to work. I set up my trail cam last night when I get to work I hope a new critter caught on the camera.
It's almost like living in a zoo.
Didn't see any skunks this morning but haven't checked the trail cam yet, I had the deer, raccoons, and a possum or two out front this morning.
I think I'd also get up in the middle of the night for that.
It's my favorite part of the day and everything is nice and quiet and peaceful for the most part - except the occasional train going past 2-3 times each week.
2-3 times a week is ok, it doesn't bother the animals either. At my parents' house it's 20-30 a day. I always like the pictures very much. They show that humans and animals can live together.
Many many moons ago, when the grass on the plains was tall, and the Iron Horse was still a mystical beast, there were two main rail lines through town (one north/south and one east/west). The north/south line went bankrupt and the rails stripped in the late 80's, while the east/west - which when I first lived in this house back in 1970 was a main through-line carrying new vehicles and hundreds of boxcars full of consumer goods across the nation and several trains passed through daily (and nightly) - now only serves the grain elevator here and one 20 miles west of us, and always hauls the loads back east. I imagine eventually it will be shut down and the rails stripped and sold for scrap like the other line was.
