TODAY'S NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY IS PROUDLY BROUGHT TO YOU BY TICKS. More specifically by a Lone Star tick I found embedded in my left shoulder this morning. And it was showing absolutely NO interest in leaving. I thought at first I had a new mole on me...but the color was a bit too dark...so I took a fingernail and scratched at it and it didn't come off. But it just didn't look right. So I kept working at it and after about a minute it finally came off, but I still couldn't tell exactly what it was (too small and my eyesight isn't great without glasses on). But doing a macro shot with the camera showed me that it was indeed a tick. Don't know how I picked it up (I assume it traveled in on one of the cats, likely Emoci) but I am going to have to have a word with the neighborhood possum since it is not doing its job (opossums are voracious tick-eaters). #Photography
