Usually don't see deer in my yard during the daytime. 'Usually' is the operative phrase here, because I have seen them 4-5 times over the last 7 years during the day, but usually if they come here it is 3-4 AM and still dark out. I put out bird seed and squirrel corn daily (a large amount of it) and several times in the early AM I have watched deer come and feed on leftovers. But this morning I was standing out in the yard watching a young squirrel feed (it's only a few months old, I can get within 5-6 feet of it and it just keeps munching away) and as I turned around to come back inside I saw this deer walking across the yard towards me, and it saw me at about the same time and stopped. I got a few shots and a bit of good video before it decided it was done and left the vicinity.

Do you have dogs? I heard that deer ticks can cause dogs to be seriously ill.
