Aslam o Alaikum Good Morning 🌻🌄🌻🌄🌻🌄🌻🌄🌻🌄 Christmas Cactus Care Tips ⁃ Provide lots of natural light, but no direct light. ⁃ Check weekly for water. Very different from cacti we are used to. In nature, these are a type of epiphyte that grows on other plants and rocks, not in soil, so their roots need to be able to breathe. Do not tolerate “wet feet”. Allow soil to dry between waterings and use a cactus soil. ⁃ They like it humid. ⁃ Don’t fertilize right before or during their bloom cycle, late summer through the winter months. ⁃ Provide cooler, darker nights to help set flower buds. You usually want to start this process 6-8 weeks before you want it to bloom. They prefer a spot that gets complete darkness for 12-14 hours per day at around 50-55 degrees. The rest of the day they can be out in temps 50-65 degrees. Once buds begin to appear, you can bring the plant back to the place you want to display it. ⁃ Careful with drastic changes in light, temperature or humidity after buds have set because it commonly causes bud drop.
