Aslam o Alaikum Good morning 🌻🌄🌻🌄🌻 Apologies for repeating myself from yesterday, but holy cow, what a morning. No meteors today but sunrise was absolutely amazing this morning from the North Shore. And the conditions couldn't have been much better to capture it. I'm not gonna lie: I wanted to sleep in today. Up before 3:00 yesterday morning, then out late with Dana on our annual trip to watch Straight No Chaser (HIGHLY recommend seeing them; we've never missed a show in Pittsburgh), and when the alarm went off at 4:17 I was less than thrilled. But a routine is a routine, so I got up and headed into the city. So glad that I did. Even though sunrise wasn't until after 7:30, by 6:30 color was already appearing in the sky; you'll see those images later. But as sunrise crept closer, the color started inching across the sky, and eventually this is the scene that transpired. Pinks, purples, reds and oranges filled the sky and reflected in the calm water of the Allegheny, and really made for an amazing view. These two images are from about the same time. One is a 4 minute exposure (captured with a neutral density filter) and the other is a 1/50th of a second exposure. The long exposure helped to smooth out the water and create some movement in the clouds, while the shorter one kept all of that definition.
