Simple desire of us. Modern life is s%cks, I wish I live in the past life. Where there is no pressure to study, no need for a job or earning money, collecting food all day, romance with wife at night! The life was totally chill. But we didn't know that, what was the past life. Our ancestors were always at war over space or various issues. They used to kill people unjustly, at that time there was no security in anyone's life as there is now. Our society has improved day by day, because they understood that the improvement of society improves the management of people's lives.
Both periods have their perks. Our ancestors were healthier, more brave and more responsible than us. If not for the wars I'd prefer them.

I think the wars became beneficial in a kind of way. Conquests were prevalent in those days. Great civilisations were created and merged with greater civilzations that still affects our modern world.
