Oral rehydration salt(ORS isca mixture of electrolytes and carbohydrates dissolved in water. They are used to replace salt and water that the body loses during dehydration caused by gastro enterities, diarrhea or vomiting. The components of ORS maximize fluid absorption in the GIT. They relies on Na-glucose co transporters which are carrier proteins in the intestinal cells. This co transporters helo move substances across membranes.
