WHAT'S THE FUSS ABOUT MARKET CAP? Market caps are measures of how big a company is. The idea of market cap is applied in bitcoin, eth, bnb, etc. because they are each considered as one company precisely because these coins have no utility (although the landscape right now is a bit changing). But Pi is different. It is a global currency like the dollar. No one talks about the dollar's market cap through its total supply around the world. Rather, people talk about a company's individual market cap by the dollar. In the same way, instead of talking about Pi's market cap, we should be talking about the individual market cap of Pi Chain Mall, Pitogo, Watugot, Express Pi, etc. based on how much Pi they own. Finally, and this is the most important. The market cap is a concept used to refer to the dollar value of a company's total shares, which may not really be backed by anything at all. This is all the more true when it comes to other crypto currencies. But Pi is backed by the resources, physical goods, time, and services of each individual Pi holder around the world. In other words, the overall value of Pi's total supply is distributed and is real because it is to be computed based on real tradable goods and services. Pi is not backed by the assets of a single company. Hence, it is a big mistake to use the concept of "market cap" for it. Stop worrying about Pi starting at $100!
