Trending SOL Meme Coin: $PWEASE Good afternoon fellow cryptonauts. I figured I'd take a minute or so to scrawl up a post about a coin that is trending this weekend, $PWEASE. Let's start from the beginning, the origin of the "pwease" meme. Recall that Ukrainian President Zelenskyy was at the White House in February 2025 for a meeting with U.S. President Trump and Vice President Vance to negotiate a minerals deal that would allow the U.S. greater access to Ukraine's rare earth minerals. In the middle of the meeting, Vance interrupts Zelenskyy and says "have you said thank you once, this entire meeting?" The interwebs, in turn, took this awkward exchange to the next level and the meme began:

...and of course this meme had to be tokenized, thus the launch of $PWEASE -- yet another Solana meme coin. On March 2, 2025, $PWEASE began trading and has already gone through what I like to call "the initial rugpull"

But recently, over the past week, $PWEASE is seeing some upward trajectory:

Why is $PWEASE trending? There is an elevated trading volume -- $3.25 million -- in the past 24 hours. I would say it's partly weekend trading, partly the fact that a lot of Solana meme shitcoins have seen significantly higher than normal inflows over the past week. Could it be from broader market instability and traders seeking returns in "alternative instruments?" Perhaps. I do wonder how the Vice President of the United States feels about becoming a meme shitcoin and how he feels about being part of this "crypto friendly" administration. Anyway, I really don't recommend trading in Solana meme shitcoins. But, if you must, trade carefully! It's the wild west out there and make sure to do your homework. You can trade blindly, and it's essentially gambling. Full disclosure: I have a fraction of 1 SOL in $PWEASE at the time of this writing and will likely have moved onto one or more other meme shitcoins by the end of the weekend.
