Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has filed a lawsuit in France alleging fraud against social media site Facebook. The international organization working for the rights of journalists filed the case on Monday. The organization alleges that Facebook is engaging in "fraudulent commercial practices." This information was given by RSF in a press release on Tuesday.According to the RSF, the social media site Facebook promises to ensure a 'safe' and 'error-free' environment online. But a huge amount of malicious and misinformation circulates on their platform, which is in conflict with their policy.

In the case, the RSF has added the testimonies and statements of several former Facebook employees and expert analysis. It said Facebook allowed its network to spread untrue information and hate speech (hate speech against ordinary people and journalists). However, Facebook claims that they have decided not to sponsor such statements in their services and advertisements on this platform.

Experts say even if the case is filed in France, the court's ruling will have a global impact. Because, the policy of Facebook is the same in all countries.

However, the RSF does not want to stop just by filing a case in France. They are preparing to file similar cases in other countries, the group said in a press release.
