The House at Raven’s End The House at Raven’s End The rain had been falling for hours, drumming a relentless rhythm on the roof of the old, abandoned house at the edge of town. Jason had never believed in the stories—how could he?—but something about the storm and the isolation drew him in. The locals whispered that no one who entered Raven’s End ever came out the same, yet curiosity burned too fiercely for him to turn back. The front door groaned as he pushed it open, a sound that echoed through the empty halls. The smell of damp wood and mildew filled the air. Cobwebs brushed his face as he stepped further inside. Every step seemed louder than the last, as though the house itself was alive and listening. Jason’s flashlight flickered, and in the brief darkness, he saw movement—a shadow darting across the far wall. He told himself it was a trick of the light, the storm, anything but what he feared. Then he heard it: faint footsteps above, slow, deliberate, echoing in the empty rooms. Heart racing, he climbed the creaking staircase to the second floor. Each step felt heavier, and the air grew colder, almost biting. At the end of the hall, a door stood slightly ajar. From within came a soft, melodic whisper: his name. “Jason… Jason…” He pushed the door open. Inside, the room was empty except for a large, cracked mirror leaning against the wall. And then he saw it—his own reflection, pale and wide-eyed… but smiling. Behind the reflection, another figure, shadowed and faceless, reached out toward him. Jason stumbled back. The door slammed shut behind him. The mirror fogged as if breathing, and a cold voice hissed: “You were expected…” He turned to run, but the hallway had vanished, replaced by a dark corridor stretching endlessly. Each whisper grew louder, surrounding him, coming from every direction. Shapes began to emerge from the shadows—faces twisted in silent screams, eyes hollow yet fixed on him. Hours—or was it minutes?—passed. The storm outside ceased, but the terror inside the house did not. The sun rose to reveal Raven’s End silent and empty, the door slightly swinging in the wind. Jason was never seen again, yet some say on stormy nights, the house calls out: “Jason… com

e back…”
