This anime is currently airing and it's on the 3rd episode. I'm not gonna say that it's the worst but I'm not happy with it either. It's a rom-com with harem and all of the anime fans know that this genre may be illogical and you can't anticipate what will happen in the story. But I think this anime will never be my type of Rom-Com.
Kanojo mo Kanojo or "Girlfriend, Girlfriend" is an anime series written by Hiroyuki. He is a great manga artist, to be honest. He created the super funny comedy anime called "Aho-Girl". And I think he is not ready with this genre yet. Its idea is unique and I think it's funny as well. But there are few things that I can't swallow.
Let's start with,
The Main Character
Mukai Naoya is the name of the protagonist. He may look like a typical Rom-Com leading man but I tell you, he's the worst. This man is the greatest trash that when you compare him to Kazuya from Rent a Girlfriend, it will make Kazuya look a pretty decent man. For those who don't watch the anime, it's basically what the title says. He already got a girlfriend but he still two-timed her. Well, his honesty is commendable because he directly confessed what he did to his girlfriend. I already said that this genre is illogical but still no other character did worst than what he did.
Saki Saki
She's one of the main female characters as well as the original and first girlfriend of Naoya. After learning the truth about Naoya's two-timing, it's funny to think that she accepted it and instead of breaking up she decided to keep their relationship and allow her partner to have another girl. Starting from this point, I can say that this story is already trash. Who in the right mind to keep their relationship that way even knowing she's the real girlfriend. Like seriously, what's wrong with their minds.
Minase Nagisa
You can call her the mistress because she is the other girl who captured the heart of Naoya. You can't blame her because she's just the victim of Naoya's selfishness. Yes, she confessed but I think she's ready to be dumped. It's just this Naoya trash insisted on the two-timing idea and this girl also agreed. They didn't think that they will just hurt each other's feelings in the end unless the author decided to make this anime pure harem.
Future Love Rivals
Yes, you heard it right. It's not just Saki and Nagisa but there will be more soon. It's not surprising because it's common in this genre. I'm just worried that it will become a real mess once they started to show up. Nagisa, Saki and Naoya already lived in the same house and once more of them will be introduced, I wonder what will happen. Will they become Naoya's girlfriend too?
On the left side of the picture, it's Hoshizaki Rika. She's supposedly the 3rd girlfriend of Naoya even though she was rejected. She insisted to be his girlfriend and sometimes he does crazy methods just to win Naoya's heart. She didn't appear in the main story yet aside from the ending song and on the video that Saki Saki watched.
And on the right side is Kiryuu Shino. She's the best friend of Saki and also the one who advised her to accept Naoya's confession. But she didn't realise that her feelings for Naoya started to develop. It's not obvious in anime yet but we will see that soon. She just hides it for the sake of her best friend.
Is This Anime Trash?
Its story is actually similar to Nisekoi, Rent a Girlfriend, Osamake and many more in the same genres. And calling it trash might be over but I think the main character deserves that. The story of Nisekoi is decent and Kazuya is a better MC than Naoya and lots of things that this anime is inferior at. In short, it's not a great alternative if you already watched Rom-Com Harem like the names that I mentioned earlier. But if you still insist on watching this anime, why not? It's just my opinion and all I was saying is it's not a better option if you really want to watch Rom-Com. It's still funny and entertaining but the story is hard to swallow.
this show is downright terrible. the reasons why i'm still watching it, are SakiSaki and Mirika are so cute. The songs are good too. This is the same case as "A Couple of Cuckoos" and "Yosuga no Sora" where I hated the MCs because they're too wimp, not good-looking, terrible, unfunny and a jerk. At least "A Couple of Cuckoos" storylines kinda engaging and the girls are cute. This one is just downright terrible, storyline kinda ass too.
