#Bitcoin SV (BSV) Suffered A 51 Percent Attack! How is the Altcoin Price Affected? What is a 51% attack? The 51% attack can be defined as an invasion on the Blockchain by malicious miners who have taken over more than half of the network's processing power. Once these attackers have taken over the network, they can prevent transactions on the network from being approved, thereby stopping payments between users. In addition, attackers can spend twice with the coins in the network. Claiming to be based on Satoshi Nakamoto's original views, its #Bitcoin counterpart, Bitcoin SV, was subject to similar attacks in June and July. According to CoinGecko data, BSV is the 44th largest cryptocurrency in the world with a market capitalization of $2.6 billion. BSV was created as a result of a hard fork of Bitcoin Cash in November 2018. Similarly, #Bitcoin Cash was created in 2017 as a result of Bitcoin's radical protocol change. Konstantin Richter, CEO and founder of Blockdaemon, a blockchain infrastructure provider, said: “There is a lot of hate in the competitive world, which includes Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV. I think these developments are a gimmick to get BSV off the cryptocurrency exchanges.” How is BSV Affected by the Attack? With the impact of the latest attack, BSV price dropped by 4% to $135.47, according to CoinGecko data. The altcoin is trading at 70% lower than its record level in April. Adam James, senior editor at cryptocurrency exchange OKEx Insights, told Bloomberg: “Looking at the current situation, we see that the impact of the attack on the BSV network on the current price action is negligible. The belief in this altcoin, which is in the third place among BTC counterparts, will decrease after these attacks. However, there may be long-term negative effects on the price.” limenya #BitcoinCashDailyAnalysis
