Time is precious

Write down the things you think are most important - what you really want to do, what people you want to be with, where you want to spend as much of your time as possible. Make a note of a suitable date next week when you will really do some of this. Make this your schedule of the most important weekly activities. Adapt them to all other tasks and their deadlines. Then write down activities that are not fatal to your well-being but take up a lot of your time. Consider whether it is possible to shorten or eliminate these activities without unpleasant consequences for you. People do certain things automatically and don’t even notice that they aren’t necessary. In your case, this could be observing a shop window with no intention of buying anything, chatting with colleagues in front of a coffee machine, or having phone conversations about trivial topics. Some spend time reviewing acquaintances ’posts on social media or persistently watching a grueling TV show because they are embarrassed to admit that they have watched all previous episodes in vain. You want to reduce wasted time with useless activities and make room for what inspires and fulfills you. Don’t be emotional about unnecessary things just because you’re used to doing them. You will find it even easier to get used to good things when they become available to you for better time management.

**Ventilate your daily schedule** Now move on to cleaning your daily schedule. Find out which of the many activities you could change to gain some time. For example, can you do some separate chores outside the apartment one after the other so you don’t have to leave and come back multiple times? The same goes for meetings, especially private ones, over which you have more influence. Three consecutive arrangements, preferably nearby, are more economical than three arrangements on three different days. We also waste a lot of time on 'online' activities that cause a certain type of addiction in a large number of people. Can you set one or two appointments for reviewing and writing emails instead of doing it little by little all day? And when you’re at email, save a little more time by shortening the length of each message to five to six lines. If you use social networks, do as with email: review them once or twice a day and do what you set out to do ‘in one piece’. This also classifies outgoing phone calls and limits their duration. An incredible amount of words and time (and money!) Goes to waste because of pointless phone calls.

If you manage to organize related activities over time in groups, you will create larger blocks of free time in the rest of the day. And these larger blocks will bring you more available space to deal with the things you love. I hope I helped you with suggestions how not to waste your time! Good luck!
