Another week, another journey! How y'all my read.cash family? I hope you are all doing great as you are. I guess everyone starts to become busy as today is a workday. Don't push yourself to the limit, just give yourself some time to chill and relax. Moreover, the weather seems gloomy and I wish it will rain again as I really wanted to stay indoors. I want to feel the cold breeze touching my skin, not the heat coming from the sun. Anyway, my apologies for being MIA (missing in action) yesterday, and I'll tell you what the reason is.
Who would have thought I could be at the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. A place where bountiful fresh tuna had been harvested. Yes, I was in General Santos City yesterday. To reach the place is such a pain in the body. In fact, we have to wake up at 1 am (Philippine time) just to prepare everything, making the motorcycle in condition and of course we have to eat but since we don't have so much time, cup noodles will do. We went to the meeting place with his motorcycle club co'z they are planning to meet the other club alliance in Gensan which is surely too far. The other members weren't able to make it due to some hectic schedule.
We start the trip around 3 am under the cold breeze that makes us totally shiver. The 3 hours journey isn't fun at all co'z I can't see any view due to the thick fog covering it and of course the weather starts to change as the rain falls from time to time making us feel extra cold and makes the road wet and slippery. The road is actually huge but some are under construction but of course it goes uphill and downhill. I can really say that the excitement I felt faded since I didn't want what I felt. My stomach started to hurt and my butt was numb. We only stop by for once just to drink hot coffee but since I don't like to eat that time I wasn't able to fill my stomach with other food aside from the noodles. We continued our trip and when we reached Gensan, what surprised us was the rain that fell hard. Of course it made us wet, luckily we brought extra clothes. We fill in the gas tank and of course the other members have to call co'z we don't know the exact place. I was expecting that the house that we will be going to is near the road but I was shocked when we had to cross over the rocky road and slippery mud which I really hate. I mean I'm afraid that we might slip or what.
We don't know that the other alliance was planning to go to one of the beaches of Gensan (Marina Beach). So it means we have to pass the other road which this time is too slippery, no more rocks and our motorcycle starts to dance with it's own rhythm. Luckily, we reached the beach safely, all the entrance and food was accommodated by the Gensan club. I don't know how I felt at that time, I'm not that happy when I saw that the beach is just the same here. They got the black sand, different cottages of course. Ow! What I was shocked about is when they have a poll which is way too different from the usual. I mean the floor isn't made of cement I guess co'z I can see the soil but actually to be honest the water is dirty. The water isn't clean but a dark one. A lot of kids and teens enjoyed swimming.
They welcome us warmly and nicely, all the members are taking a photo just to serve as a remembrance. They meet each other, talk about different rides and journeys they had. While I walk around to see the beach, I sit in the cottage. I actually didn't enjoy it because the weather told me so. Gez! Even the place welcomes us with rain. But what makes me kill the boredom is when I have someone to talk to and that is the wife of the same club members. We talk about life, family and everything. After all the talking, eating and drinking of alcohol of course (only those Gensan members did). We decided to go home, and as usual the rain didn't stop and neither did we. We didn't get the chance to buy some souvenirs co'z we didn't know where we could buy them. From there we only stop once which makes my body ache badly, I even hardly feel my butt and back. Phew! the pain was there. But this time I was having fun looking at the view though there are still fog covers. I took a photo under the rain just so I could show you how fascinating Gensan is.
Overall, despite all the difficulties we feel before reaching the place. I still can that no one can compare how beautiful the nature of Gensan is.
