Santa Clause is coming to town and I can’t contain myself from the excitement, who can? It’s gonna be 2 more days to go and he will be dropping off his gift for everyone. Ola my dear read.cash family, today is Thursday!
Last 2 days were my mom's 46th birthday. I know this is way too late but it just happen that the signal gave me a headache and it really stressed me up. Though it’s kinda late, allow me to share with you how things happen during the celebration.
I wake up early that time so I could greet my mom a happiest birthday. She’s already preparing herself to go to work since she is badly needed in the Barangay. My older sister also do some chores and make herself presentable since she will be on duty too. So expecting that me, my other half, my niece and younger sister will be in the house. Afternoon before that day, we already told our neighbor to go to the house so he could get some fresh coco from the tree. Of course we paid him. My sister did the cutting and I’m the one who did the scraping. It’s takes a long long long time, 3 bunches will needed be done as early as we could, though the celebration will be at night. I separate the meat of the buko to its juice that’s what we usually do. I think we get almost 4 gallons of fresh juice from it. Gez! That’s lot to drink, so it could help me get rid of my UTI.
Anyway, after I did the cooking, we didn’t have our breakfast yet. I saw that we had uncooked fish in the fridge so I fried it, but since it would take a long time I didn’t wait for it to be cooked. I just bought a pancit canton to fill our growling stomach. We hurriedly finished it and of course I continued to fry it. That time was a day for me to be a kusinera (the one who cooks). The first thing I did was to put a flavor in the coco, adding the fruit cocktail and a can of condense to make it more creamy and quickly put it in the refrigerator.
I took a rest for a while and so did my boyfriend. The weather kept on telling me to do it, so I did! Lol. Waking up due to my hungry tummy and of course I take my lunch and don’t have the time to go back to sleep since I need to cook the spaghetti. I Went to lolo so I could tell him to do the chicken but lolo didn’t come early so my father did it instead and I’m the one who cooks it. I do the Sinabawang Manok. While my mom came home from work then went out to buy some Bangus fish so I could grill it.
It's a simple yet memorable day of mine. We have a homemade ice-cream which we all want, a mango float, buko and spaghetti, adding the soft drinks. We don’t actually have cake co’z we forget to have a pre order and besides I don’t have enough money since I already spent it for the gift. We don’t have a lot of guests, just us and of course my Aunt, uncle and cousins in the neighborhood. Well, my birthday is coming too and I’m excited though I don’t know what to cook or prepare. I mean I have some BCH savings but it is intended for my boyfriend’s gift. Besides, I don’t need any celebration as long as they have. I’m totally fine with it. After all it’s not about the food that was on the table, what matters is a healthy family.
Thank you for reading my article for today. I will end it here.
