Children are the best gift of a family from God. Children are given to the parents to be their caregiver and it is joy to see yourself holding a baby and you are been called by the name of that baby. That means you aren't barren.
Have you touched an egg before? How do you handle an egg? An egg is so fragile that it needs extra care to hold so it doesn't fall and break because if it breaks, that is the end.
Children are like the egg. Starting from when they were born, they pass through some stages which are;
Prenatal stage
Infancy stage
Childhood stage
Adolescence stage
Old age.
The first stage of a child starts from the Prenatal stage where he or she hasn't been conceived. Still in conception. Then he or she grows to what is called Infancy stage. At this period, the child is 0-2 years. It is at this stage parents need to be at alert and monitor the child as he or she grows up. Then the child enters into the Childhood stage (2-12years). This is another delicate stage for children because at this stage, they keep practicing what they observe. Do you know children observes things quickly at this stage?
It is always difficult to train and monitor a child at the early stage. Likewise,it is the most sweetest thing to have done because you have already laid down a foundation for the child that you don't need to regret when you starts taking your rest.
It is always important to take note of a child's needs at this stage because of peer pressure. If you do not meet up with the needs of children and they go outside to see their peers being given everything they needed, then the child feels inferior among others and this can affect him or her especially his or her affective domain. This is when there is a problem with the way the child shows his emotions in a bad way. The child keeps thinking the parents are not caring, they aren't loving, they are selfish etc this is where the child's domain is affected.
We all believe it is God that takes care of children in the sense that when a child is given maximum training, they still end up becoming wayward and hooligans in the society. Well, in my own opinion, I would say though the parents gave them a proper upbringing, but what about those needs they had wanted but the parents fail to provide for them? Then these children when they go outside, easily interact with others and join them. They will not want to disclose this secret to their parents because they feel they would be scolded. So they keep it to themselves till they grow up and reached the stage where they think they can now go outside the world and cater for themselves.
Also, another aspect where Parents are lagging behind is not paying attention to their children. They keep shunning them away all because of their businesses, works, and travelling, they make the child feel lonely and sad. This actually takes the child outside to express himself or herself to people outside and then they are lured into different activities that shouldn't be found in them.
Parents needs to train their children by attending to them, meeting their needs (even if it isn't available then, they should be known immediately), monitoring their movements, their kind of friends and how they interact with people in the society. Children should be handled like an Egg.
