Look at the Future.

We all would agree that the three things that sums up a man's life are past, present and future. We have lived the past, living the present and do not know what the future holds for a person. This is why we have always been warned not to look less at anyone or act wickedly to anyone because the table can turn things around later. Then, it would be a shocking thing to know that the one we once mistreated years back is now in the position to help us today and how do you feel standing in such person's presence?

This life is small and we do not know what can happen next. Every human beings are like water and we do not know which way the water would flow to. The North, South, East and West are very important. You may go in the North side, another person to the South and both of you might just bump into each other in the East or West. Your altitude in life would be determined by your attitude.

When we were very young, there is this Uncle who treated us kindly. He is the son of my Grandma's younger brother. He was also young then and whenever we come around for Christmas, he would always extend his hands to us. He would give us things and cared for us then. He never knew the future but was so kind to everyone. In fact, everyone loved him in the house. He never maltreated anyone badly but with his friendly attitude, we all embraced him and loved him.

Few years later, the children he once helped and cared for became grown up and are doing fine. He also married and got two children who are now in Senior Secondary School. He had stroke and was benched home. He couldn't do anything but to keep taking drugs prescribed to him. In fact, coming home for Christmas was like a burden to him because he had no money but everyone helped raised money for him and his family and they are around.

We are the children he helped, and two days ago, my sisters and I called him and his wife to the room to ask how they are fairing and how they would survive in the new place they relocated to. Both of them are just new in the area and do not have anything to start with.

My elder sister planned to help raise money to start up a business and she uttered a statement to him. She said;

"Bro Michael, you are not the kind of person we can just ignore like that. You have done a lot for us in the past and it's time to help you now."

My Uncle appreciated it and even felt sober which I guess he was trying to thank God he never acted badly to us then. He is enjoying us today.

He never predicted or knew what the future brings. He didn't know we would become who we are today. Perhaps he wouldn't have enjoyed much but we aren't like that to take revenge of the past to the present.

Only God knows what will be for someone and it is not in your hand to assume what will happen tomorrow. Many people would look less at someone and conclude nothing can amount to them. The reason you say this is because you do not know God and how He does His thing. He is in the habit of surprising and shocking everyone. A man who doesn't have today will somehow have tomorrow.

There is another Uncle who always pride in things and would beat my sister when she was young. He would fake things up for himself. He saw us and couldn't believe we were the little children then and he already spoiled everything which made the family back up from him.

Only God knows who will succeed tomorrow and He chooses whoever He wants to. He brings the lowly and humble up and bring down those who are proud.

I am always afraid of the future and I am also careful not to misbehave to anyone on earth. A man dressed in a rag today can become someone with lots of beautiful clothes and shoes in his wardrobe. It's just a matter of time and it requires patience.

Let's be mindful of our character to others. Do not assume negative things to others but be kind and humble. Tomorrow is still pregnant, nurture it well so as to have the best of the best.
