David went to the town of Nob to see Ahimelech the priest. Ahimelech trembled when he saw him. “Why are you alone?” he asked. “Why is no one with you?” Loneliness is one of the killer our time. Let me tell you, many people have become frigid and emotionally dead due to loneliness. God said in the beginning that “it is not good that the man should be alone” (Genesis 2:18). Man is made for fellowship and the Bible make it clear that “two are better that one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). This is why God recommends in His word that every man should have his wife, and every women should have her own husband (1Corinthians 7:1-3). And he called his twelve disciples together and began sending them out two by two, giving them authority to cast out evil spirits. (Mark 6:7). This is not only in the matter of marriage that loneliness should be avoided. Even when Jesus was sending His disciples out on mission, He sent them two by two because He knew only one person can be thinking of evil things. Again, when it comes to wisdom, and counsel for direction, it is on the Multitude of counselors that there is safety (proverbs 24:6). The book proverbs 14:28 says,; “In the multitude of people is the king’s honour”. So, for a king, or a leader, to be alone is totally absurd. One crucial mark of effective leadership is how many people you can bless, inspire and influence. I know someone who always said in his word that “if you claim to be a leader and no one is following you, you are only taking stroll!. When Abimelech saw David alone, it was unusual. As a warrior leader, a commander, and a king-in-waiting, David was never seen alone. Hence Abimelech’s question. Can I direct the same question to you? Why are you alone? Why is no one with you? Could it be that you need to work on yourself so you can attract the right king Kong of people? There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 So, if you want to have friends you must show yourself friendly and be very wise of the friend you're choose. Could it be that you have to me certain specific move to solve your loneliness problem? There is time for everything under heaven. Whatever it is, pray to God and ask the Lord to give you wisdom to deal with the affairs of your life so that you will never be alone. Lastly, as a child of God, you are really never alone. The Lord has promised never to leave nor forsake you. You can enjoy His fellowship, revel in His love, and ask Him to bring right people to Whose fellowship and help assist you in fulfilling your destiny in Christ.
