Hello noisers. I'd like you to meet Eyterpe (Eyterpi). She is a wonderful cat who adopted me last summer, coming down from my balcony and looking at me in the eyes :) <3 Eyterpe was living in the streets and still does. Since then I am given her food and water and some other cats came to our neighborhood and fed them as well. I cannot adopt a pet, I have allergies especially in cats, still I love all the animals so very much and I wish I had a big garden full of them <3 I know I cannot have one, I don't try to convince myself to "try", because I love animals and don't want it to be left elsewhere once it will feel safe in a home. :( <3 I read that Eyterpe was one of the Muses in Greek mythology, presiding over music - perhaps deep inside when I gave her the name, she was like a sweet melody in my ear :) <3 Euterpe was born as one of the daughters of Mnemosyne. "Mnemosyne" is derived from the same source as the word mnemonic, that being the Greek word mnēmē, which means "remembrance, memory". Why am I saying these things though? Because after the fire, I read that at least 5 people were in their homes in Athens or other places they live in, and they had left behind in their yards in the place where the fire happened, dogs (and maybe cats). The dog they had for "a pet", "a company", "a friend", "a keeper", obviously they saw it only as a "thing" that's a part of the house they go in summer time, left alone all this time, inside their property and sometimes even tied up. I saw some pictures of them dead :( I felt so sorry for these poor creatures, as for the ones that were in the forest, still I find so cruel to "adopt an animal" and don't have it with you, for you, living with it etc. I wonder why these people who now "cry" for their poor animals that had them 100km at least away from them, have a face to walk among us :( I think they should be punished. Everybody needs to be punished for having a living existence and think it can suffer this way. So yes, I feel 100% a better person than those who think "adoption" of an animal means have it for the yard, the balcony, the picture to upload to internet and not have it for real first in their hearts. For all the loving animals on the Earth, If they cannot have an owner who really deserve, I wish they have Eyterpe's luck, even if they live in streets. <3
