Social media as a whole often times gets a bad rep, and sometimes it is for good reason. For all of its highs and lows, one thing is true. We get to see that at the end of the day, no matter where we are from, we are all just people. We are not entirely unlike each other even when divided by ideology, culture, language, the kinds of governments that rule us and so on and so forth. We are both different and similar, and social media lets us see people for who they really are. It can erase preconceived notions about particular cultures or places and give us a view into the real world, and offer perspective on the people that live in it. Sometimes it feels like writing an 'everyday' regular life post seems like a waste of time and effort on a site like read.cash.
