Beware of the term "free" in ads. For example, "Call us now for a free book on what seniors should do and think about annuities. This free book will tell you all you need to know about what annuities to buy and what to consider." No. In fact it will not tell you anything. The pages will be filled with gobbledygook that will then lead you to a phone number to call for the information you will actually need that you won't get unless you buy the product they are selling. This is a tactic that has been done for years and years. None of the information you will actually need to make any sort of decision will be free and any of the "free" information will be entirely useless without making the phone call. Keep in mind, as well, that when you make the phone call, the person "helping" you through the process will have more of their own interests in mind than yours, and any information they offer will be toward their goal, not yours. You will never accomplish much by getting information from a salesman. It is better to seek out the information you need from unbiased and reliable sources before contacting anyone about a product or service.
