On any site that requires content, and thus, content creators, rules are an important thing. It's what keeps things in working order and keeps certain people from doing potentially untoward and nefarious things. But determining the difference between the "real" content creators and the fakers, or those who are out to accomplish some other goal is also important. And real content creators should always be able to remind the rule makers who really make the sites valuable—and stand their ground. As I write posts here on noise.cash, I always follow the site rules. It's one of the responsibility of writers.
At the same time, I think the owners of any site should listen to the writers if they have suggestions to make better rules, strike certain rules, or rewrite the rules. Not simply ignore the people that make the sites go.
