I Am Trying to Keep the Faith

*Faith.* That's an interesting word, isn't it? I mean, if you think about it, when it comes to cryptocurrency lately, that's really what you have to have in order to see any silver lining ahead. Sure, there are lots of people still completely full of it. *Faith*. Despite all of the crashes and terrible outcomes lately, many people are still clinging on to the idea that crypto is still the future and that crypto at least *has* a future. And a strong one at that. I am not even sure that I, myself, have resigned myself to the idea that crypto is dead and we're just waiting for the final burial to confirm it. I am not investing any new real money into any of it. But I *am* still enjoying ways to at least earn some of it through faucets and other means. For whatever that is worth, and perhaps *just in case.* Because, as I have been reminded time and time again through articles and posts—this is not the first time cryptocurrency has run into trouble. And beyond that, if it is truly an "asset," or truly has "value," then it is going to act like any other investment in the world.

It will ebb and flow. It will go up, and it will go down. It is quite interesting to me to hear some major players in the crypto world making claims that Bitcoin in particular has enormous upside potential with one saying it should be at $250,000 by the end of 2023 and another saying they think it will climb to $1 million. I am not sure I am on that tea boat yet. But who knows? What do I know? I am a stock market guy and while I have been at crypto for going on two years, I still don't know all there is to know about what I am doing when it comes to crypto. Even I have seen a few meteoric rises in certain coins. Bitcoin soared to $65k, and we saw millionaires made from Shiba Inu and Dogecoin. So, anything is possible. I have just enough skin in the game to make it count if things do in fact turn around, but not enough skin in the game that it matters if it all hits the fan. So again, I am doing my levelheaded best to keep the faith. To keep the idea tucked safely in the back of my mind that maybe there is still something to all of this, and there is a gain to be had down the road. Whenever that happens. I guess the only drawback to all of this for me is the uncertainty part of it all. If crypto had the history, say, of the stock market, I absolutely know what direction we would be heading for sure. *Up*. Without a doubt. Because ultimately that is the only direction the stock market has gone since the beginning of time. That drawback is that what is in front of me right now may be the best opportunity I may ever see to amass a considerable fortune—but not having enough faith in it prevents me from taking advantage of that to the full extent I am capable of doing. Still, the whole thing is watched with some bit of fascination, as well as a bit of skepticism. I think the level of faith I have in crypto is at least a healthy one. I still stand to make a considerable enough gain if it proves to be something worthwhile, but I won't lose the *other* fortune I have already made in the stock market over the years. Time will tell, and again, who knows what the future holds? Meanwhile, I will be watching and waiting with anticipated interest until we get our answer. *Lead image courtesy of Pixabay, user 4144132.* *Buddhism Monk Temple - Free photo on Pixabay* https://pixabay.com/photos/buddhism-monk-temple-panorama-2214532/
