In order for cryptocurrencies to have a better shot at understanding and adoption I think it needs to work harder on its marketing. When you talk to people outside of crypto circles it becomes all too clear all too fast how much confusion there is about it, and that spells "lack of good marketing." For example, getting someone to understand that Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash are two separate things can be like pulling teeth.

You're right but mindset of peoples in crypto is like making shitcoins leading crypto make other peoples think that this is just gambling one will gain and other will loss No one see benefit and purpose of projects so it's all because lack of good marketing and maybe in future it will be much more better than know so more peoples will take interest to learn more about crypto
LOL. Not really but it's your opinion 😏
Or that Bitcoin Cash isn't actually an equivalent to fiat cash... and not all cryptocurrencies are Bitcoin. 🤦♀️
So far, to be quite fair and honest, crypto has not shown me anything I can do with it that I cannot already do with fiat. Just saying. And if 90% of people have no idea what it is, it's not going to have much luck replacing fiat if that is the aim. lol
