When it comes to writing anything, there is always the question of 'what topic should I write about today?' that comes to mind. Life often provides a whole lot of fodder to get things down on paper. Of course, so do perspectives, ideas, and opinions, and all of these things have always worked well for me over my years of writing. To that end, I do like to sometimes write a 'series,' and I was trying to think of a topic that MIGHT be of interest to my readers, and those that perhaps have not found their way to my posts on read. I have said many times that I have been in the stock market for 30+ years, and I have many a successful investment to talk about. But the ones you got right aren't necessarily always a fun or interesting topic. It's the one's that got away that have the most interesting story, potentially, behind them. And so that is what I will focus the series on. "The One's That Got Away." Stocks I saw, or had the opportunity to own very early on before they were success stories that I simply missed the mark on. So, that's what I am going to do. Write a series of posts talking about the stocks I let go before they could have become much bigger for me. Either I sold too soon, or totally missed the mark and never bought them. I think it should be fun to take a walk down memory lane and revisit some of my biggest stock market screwups, and offer some commentary and perspective on where things went wrong, and what my overall thoughts are after the fact about them.
